Whats the performance like of the 1.4 75bhp version engine in the polo 6n2. Selling my car soon and i just want a nippy little car for around town. Was looking at getting the 1.4 mk4 golf but been hearing alot about how sluggish they are.

Would go for a gti but for the driving i do the mpg would kill me lol

tdi you want dude. I've got the 1.4 tdi version, its nippy and very economical and the best bit is you can have it remapped to close on the bhp of the gti and the economy is still unbelivably good.

The 1.4 75bhp aren't amazingly fast, about the same speed as a fast 1.2.

Also from what i've read on here, gti's have better mpg than mine. I get around 270miles to a tank and gti owners said 300+

I get 500+ to a tank on my tdi

Deffinately a good choice, plus then get a decent remap youl be seeing between 100-110 and fuel efficency doesnt decline providing you drive it sensibly
