As the title really just wondering what they normaly do in mpg , like I roughfly do £20 150-200 miles carefull driving , only have an induction kit , what's do you guys normaly get ? And on the motor way what's the best speed to do for mpg , thanks

Thats quite a wide range you have given there to be fair.

Its not good or accurate to be calculating MPG buy cost of fuel.

And also you have given a wide range of miles you get from £20 of fuel.

Anyway if you take the average cost of a litre of fuel as £1.219 just now then going between your two stated mileages your getting either 41-55MPG, giving you an average of 48MPG.

Which is about what I would expect from a standard 1.3 SPI Mk3.

There is a lot to economical driving. Think of it like this - if you ever use the brakes,you were driving too fast. Not always practical but you get the idea.

And keep the throttle pedal up. The more it goes down,the more your fuel goes down. Use high gears,low revs (keep it over 2k rpm with that engine though,as you dont have the torque for efficient lower running) and be patient.

But just touring about at traffic speed,you should expect a hundred miles per ten quid with that car. Even mine does that.

Traffic speed is very important - once you start overtaking people on straights,you're not efficient. Efficient overtaking is not stopping when others are,because there's enough time to proceed. This happens alot at roundabouts etc,where people stop and wait for santa,allowing you to just pass them all and join it anyway. Dont get to a junction and then look,as they do,look and read what's ahead in advance so you know the most fluid way to proceed when you get there.

For motorways,sit behind the swifter HGV's for absolute distance. You'll be doing almost 60mph when the going's good. Keep your distance and use it as a cushion,so you can minimise braking whenever the line of traffic bunches up. If traffic is slow,stay in the most stable lane - not in the fast lane,because its full of impatient drivers who have probably created the bunching in the first place.
