Well its time once more........

Featured Replies

My wife is now pregnant with our 3rd child! We are both over the moon and after a couple of miscarriage scares everything seems to be going well! Both of my cars are a little small for 3 child seats across the rear bench. Not to mention the fact that none of them have a central 3 point belt. So its time to sell one of my cars and buy something a little more sensible.

Its been a very tough choice about which car to sell - as I have this:-

My Mk4 1.4 16v with sunroof & aircon. This one has cost me loads in the last year inc a new gearbox (4 times!) a full exhaust system (std inc CAT) - respray and arches rolled, wheels & tyres (on my 4th set in 2 years!), coilovers wound down quite low, HID's, all the stereo is upgraded too. Just about happy with this one.

Or this:-

My Fabia VRS. This one i've had for 18 months. Again its cost a fortune, blew the clutch so ditched the DMf & run a complete Jabbasport 6kg SMF & sachs paddle clutch. Full prototype Jetex exhaust system, bilstein springs & shocks, fully upgraded stereo again & one off wheels, 312mm discs.

I've finally decided to sell the MK4 and keep the Fabia - yes I know its a Polo forum. But i feel i've got as far as I want to with the MK4, the aircon on it is SO cold! :) So it will be going up for sale in a few months time!

I have also decided on its replacement - one of these (not this exact one, but it is a nice example!)

Its a Mk1 VW Touran - will try and find a top of the range Sport one - they have the 2.0 16v TD 140bhp engine - so an easy remap available for it. prices start for about £5000 or so for a 53/54 plate one.

Oh well! :)

Congratulations to both you and your wife :)

I'm sure you will miss the polo, I've loved the car and what you have done with it, and good choice for the next car :)

if you can get it looking half as good as the example above that will be great

As do i, whats the price going for the polo?.

Also that Mk1 VW Touran looks nuts!

the polo looks miles better than the Vrs imo

But good look anyway, i doubt your kids will be impressed with the ride quality if u get it slammed that much like the others

Andy

Leave it standard!

3rd child? Not got a TV?

Congratulations to you. Both cars look sweet imo. Dont see many modified people carriers these days.

Price will depend on the wheels and stereo that goes with it.

As it sits with the TH's on it & the full fat stereo in it inc, upgraded all the speakers, stealth shelf, Infinity 1240W sub & a 2000W RMS Digital mono Vibe amp (£600+ this cost!) - about £2400.

On the wheels, but with the expensive Amp & sub removed and others in their place - £2200

On G60 Steels, with expensive Amp & Sub removed and others in their Place - £2000

Good bits about the car:-

Timing belt snapped just before I bought it - did some major damage and had basically a new engine built and fitted - I have no receipt for this at this time. The previous owner had lost it - But I did see a bank statement of his with a bill for over £2400 of parts for the VW main dealer! Mileage on the new engine is about 8500 miles

New gearbox with a 2 year warrenty - done about 2400 miles

Bodywork is mainly straight, other than a couple of marks on the bonnet & a very slight sink in the filler in the front bumper its pretty good. not perfect!

Bad bits:-

New exhaust catches on the front lower stut brace

Not exactly looking to sell the car instantly. But if someone does want it then i'd let it go!

I have never driven a std car in my life - it will be modded!

My kids have both grown up with rock hard suspension and so low that the car scrapes - they love going out in the Polo!

Mustnt have been much on TV that night..............

Dont see many modified people carriers these days.

That's cos people carriers tend to be practical :-D

Edit: Where are my manners. Congrats on the newcomer :-)

Touran = 7 seats & loads more interior space + Sweet rims - ride hight = SWEET!

Dont use them! ;) I love kids! I'd have more if we could fit them into the flat we live in. But I think 3 is our limit now! It has taken over 12 months to decide between us if we definately did want another one. Looks like our decision was made for us. But its something I cherish more than anything - is my children! :)

I sold my last mk4 Amber when we had my first little girl. That was a tough choice. But she is worth it! :)

That F6Squared one is totally nuts. Looks awesome. Congrats on the kiddie :)

Congrats on the kiddie :-)

Tourans make great kid wagons, got my wife a mk1 TDI sport, an excelent choice.

Took a while finding a decent one, due to the nature of them, but certainly worth it. Plenty quick enough as stardard for kids transport.

I have been contemplating modding it, but until my car is built, it will have to wait.
