Whats the best way to paint the rear badge on my 9n3? is it best just to mask it off and paint it or remove the whole thing?

Hi,

i did mine not so long back, i got a flat screw driver, put like a tea towel round the end so i didnt scratch the paint, and pushed it off from behind, then it just sticks back on, wasnt hard to do.
