Fully rebuilt 1272 G40 PY engine less than 1000 miles ago

Stage 4 super charger (with stand alone oil pump) fully rebuilt less than 1000 miles ago

65mm steel pulley kit

Gas flowed head with 1mm larger valves

Schrick cam

Adjustable cam pulley

Gas flowed G40 inlet

De-wedged throttle body

Custom accelerator cable bracket

4 branch manifold

Power flow 2" exhaust system with 3" rolled out tail pipe

Front mount intercooler with brackets on bumper bar.

Blue silicone hoses

Smooth boot, de badged and no boot handle

Rear disc conversion using complete rear axle from seat ibzia GTI with polo GTI calipers and poly bushes

280mm front brakes

poly bushes for the rear of the wishbone

what bhp isit running at, how much did you pay for your RM's too ? you know they stopped making them so keep them they will be rare i got a pair too

its currently running 160ish but with the remap chip I've got in the post hopefully more :)

il post a pic of the bay, its alot cleaner now though so no judgements lol

how much would you say the RMs are worth then as I'm looking to sell, their good condition just one scuff.

now this is what I'm talking about, theres been a rapid decline of nice 6ns recently and too many "this is my totally unmodded car" but this, this is awesome..

did you do the engine change yourself?? personally i think this deserves something a bit more special doing on the interior, knew seats and steering wheel and also the stance needs sorting out!!!!

quick edit dont wanna hi-jack the thread but how can the g40 engine take so much power being only a 1.3, when people ask all thee turbo questions about there 1.4's ect and people say its not worth the trouble

theres been a fair few 6n g40's, if youve not seen any you haven't looked hard enough.

and jon - theres plenty of decent 6ns, my fav has to be ash's although i have a feeling that may be a 6n2

it's not to do with engine size, it's to do with the strength of the internal parts and the compression ratio they have. It's not worth trying to make a 1.4 bottom end the same strength as a g40 bottom end when you can just buy a g40 bottom end for £100 or less.

cheers bud, yer I'm a member on clubg40, as for the chip its from polo performance parts its G40002 as its best suited. do you reckon il feel much of a gain and over all better engine running?

also to other comments, the interior eg seats will be sorted when i have funds, nothing tarty as I'm not into all that,

and I'm going to sort the stance but I'm in the process of selling my wheels so il sort it all when my new wheels are on, like i say il keep you updated :)

right, i need new wheel ideas, the RMs are going as i need the money for some engine work, i looking to spend about £500 on some wheels and tyres, pref second hand, dish, 15" any ideas? links?

remap chip on its way, gota get ignition timing set up, new spark plugs, leads, oil and filter change and new steel pulley kit to go on.

and I've gota sort out the new wheels to go on it, then stance, and when i come into funds, I'm guna sort the interior. all good fun :)

This is what I'm going to do sometime, G40 6n. How cool can you get!!

old engines though, hard maintenance but alot of fun :)

havnt updated in a while,

engine bay is alot clear than in this pic, polished up the charger, put a nice new air filter on and cleaned up the wiring

currently running it without the bumper grills as it looks meaty with the intercooler on show lol

car needs lowering on the rear but still havnt got round to it,

i want to sell it really as i wanna go jap, want a glanza, i know itl probly be slower as i raced my mates one and whipped it but just fancy the jap look.

Lovely car mate! - question: Did you feel removing the rear bench ect made a difference in the feel of the car ??
