first car?

Featured Replies

My test is looming very soon. But i haven't got a car yet! :-(

I've tried a couple of insurance sights for quotes, and the cheapest I've had has been 2,500 pounds on mk4 6n 1.0l Polo on a 1997 plate. This is without mods.

I would like to mod my car, but when i added suspension and bodywork, it went up to 3,800 pounds?!?!?

If anybody knows a better car to insure it would be a real big help.

or if you can give me a few insurance sites that can give a cheaper quote.

preferably i would like to declare my mods, just to be on the safe side.

the other bad thing is... I'm 18. This seems to knock me back every time!!

also, if anybody is selling a cheap (around 1,000 pounds or less?) 1.0l Polo then please let me know. this is killing me! i'm just trying to get a foot in the vdub scene!! :x

I know a lot of you are older and get cheap insurance, but i could do with all of the help i can get.

any help would be much appreciated.

thanks.

Yea.... don't do this unless the policy holder is driving the car more than you.

I'll have a look on Tesco. I want to go on my own insurance i think though mate :/

cheers

H270 MSG 1 Litre Mk3 Polo 200 quid, try that with das insurers,

youll get stung while your young tho mate, mods or no mods.

sometimes newer cars are better with a years free insurance, and or cheaper premiums due to increased security (and your more inclined to look after a 2 grand motor than a 200 quid shed)

Try a company called brentacre, they are brilliant last time I called to add a mod ( which didn't cost anything extra btw) I ended up discusing what would be the best engine for my mk2 jetta project... Lol The guys there are wicked and know the vw scene well! I am 19 now but when I got my mk3 golf 1.9 tdi I was 18 and it was £980 (£1100 by the time I've paid it monthly) which Is really good I thought and that with all mods declared, and I can add anything as long as I tell them ;)

Hope that helps ;)

Steve

I have a car for sale. Its advertised in the cars for sale section of this forum, under non-polos.

Its a very low insurance group, just had lots of work done and is guaranteed cheap motoring :)

A good car to build your no claims in!
