It annoys me so much that this thread is still on one page too many pictures to load and now I'm going to add to it :) *Edit- Had to go onto 2 pages when I posted this didn't it :LL*

Soo finally lowered the Bready!, Forgot to take any pictures of the process, too busy getting on with it and getting stressed out by the whole thing, had to leave it on stands over night because I relised I didn't have a 30mm socket, some massive grips to unscrew the cap that holds the shock in place, buzz gun and a castle nut removal tool ( made my own instead by demolishing a cheap socket ), so anyway my mechanic neighbor brought home a load of tools from work. The damages caused in the process.......wound ball joint nut (replaced), both disk screws gone which makes putting the wheels on a b**ch, and I slightly wound the head on one of the caliper bolts :S Anyway enough blabbering.....

Before (Rally Spec)

After :D but now i've got the lowering bug and want to go lower, the rears can go another 20mm but then I think it will mess up the stance, atm its pretty nice :)

Ride quality= Wa*k But I don't care I love how it looks, Thanks again PhilJ!

Also when I was building back up the drivers side brakes, the pads were pretty tight to get back on espically with the clips and now when I drive I get a rubbing sound of the pads on the disks, I thought it would wear down and stop but i've down a few miles these past few days and its still there, I haven't been bovered to look at it yet though :/ ??

My mate Dc_Motty had to go and 1-up me with the teardrops, he was bidding on a set of 5 on ebay, much better condition than mine and got them for £26, bargain of the month :)

Heres some pics of my Mk2 lowered and his Mk3 with the teardrops on....

put the bumper on please!

Never!!

Unless you've got some short Mk1 ones laying around :)

love the rear shot buddy: she'll settle tad lower over next week or so. so don't worry about wanting to go lower just yet! get used to it first :)

With a front bumper on that splitter and front end would work soooo much better,

Still fair play and good job :-)

Yup, definitely better lower. I'm actually really pleased I didn't go for the PhilJ kit, everyone seems to say the ride quality is rubbish. Used a Gmax kit myself and although I got it cheaper than usual I would still have forked out the £250 so that I kept the comfort with the lowness.

Definitely looking good now, surprising how much difference bringing Polos down to a sensible height makes aesthetically.

The ride quality is terrible but I can't cut it really, you get what you pay for, starting to get use to it now :)

I understand the hate on the non front bumper, from the side it looks proper dodgy, but I love it ! makes it look so much cleaner and meaner I think.

I feel its too oldmanish with the bumper on but thats just me :/ my old ones warped and the indicators don't sit in it right either.

I would really love to put Mk1 bumpers on but its just getting hold of some :/

Anyway I fitted my wheels on the other day when it was in rally mode and they looked sick, so I might put them on again today to see how bad the poke on the front is :S hah

This is crying out for some minilite wheels.

Impressed with how the painting turned out, ill be doing my mk3 in tornado red soon but don't know how to go about it.

How about keeping an eye out for some corner bumpers for the front? You could even take a bumper that was the wrong width, chop the middle out and, if they're metal, repaint them black so you don't need to worry about chrome and rust. Got to be some suitable metal bumpers on things like old Transits and the like to chop about with and you'd keep the clean front while amending the unfinished profile view.

Edited to add: Ford Escort ones might work, like this:

Instead of showing you pictures of paint drying, heres it finished, quite close finish, the bonnet just needs some cutting compound on it to blend it in which i'll do next week when the paints properly dry

I did this just for a laugh, they're my brothers banded polo steels, 9inch fronts, 9.25inch rears, to be fair I think I could make them fit :D

Tell me what you think!

Jordan

Make them fit ! hahah be a massive struggle though :p

the car looks amazing on the banded steels!!.. you know the first set of wheels you had.. are they stamped BWA?

You should totally keep those wheels on, they look sick! make em fit!

Youve done a great job on this dude, amazing to see how far its come, i also love how your car has a beard 8-)

Aye, its abit like your beard that salt.

Looks absaloutly wicked on the banded steelies, I suggest you invest in some wellers/bands for yourself.

Porn!

[dumbassery] What exactly are banded steel wheels?[/dumbassery]

I love that. Proper Badass. Prepare to be good friends with the local five-o :)

Banded steel wheels which are steel wheels that have been cut in half and had a band of metal added to them to make them wider. Highly illegal. Looks good though.

Good lord.

And thats what the wheels are that you have on your car at the moment lol

they're perfectly safe.

^ Heroic comment !

By the amount of comments, I can see this is a winner :D thanks guys!

But as I said they are my brothers and he loves them as much as I do (blatently look better on the polo than lupo though :D ) so I can't tempt him to sell them to me :'(
