Okay so I'm going down my highstreet and there's x2 girls on the passenger side of the road also walking down.

They've both just come outa the co-op with a baguette each and trundling along the side of the pavement. One of them turns round before deciding weather to cross the road - notices me and decides its best that she don't cross. Then just as I'm about to get along side them the other one jus steps out without looking and *bang* windscreen smashed etc etc massive dent up my wheel arch wing mirror broke too.

i stopped and jumped out etc etc paramedics come police take statement and that. Witnesses know i wasnt in the wrong i was going about 20mph just rolling down the hill.

Now what happens?! Do i claim from something? I know i wasnt in the wrong just really shaken up now. Anyne know what happens now? Cheers

Just work with the police,and if they suggest a solicitor at any point then ask for them to put you onto one. Its your right.

I wouldn't inform your insurance just yet,and unless you have to and/or wish to make a claim. They're only likely to hold it against you,claim or not. If you want advice speak to a solicitor and citizens advice.

Very similar incident happened to me a month after passing my test.

Police told me at the scene it wasn't my fault, I took witness details, went around to the injured house to check she was ok and we all agreed it wasn't my fault. I claimed on insurance for a windscreen and reported the incident, they phoned me up to take a very detailed statement to the effect that it wasn't my fault.

Hopefully your outcome will be as good as mine, a year and a bit on I'm still quite scared of pedestrians.

There was a little bumper 2 bumper action round by my shops earlier and the stupid bitch behind the "Action" instead of waiting for them to move over pulled out head on into 3 cars turning into the junction. Holy poop man, you need to step back, take a breather and think yourself lucky it wasnt too serious. Its a rare occasion these days imo that the driver of the vehicle isnt blamed.

I had a pissed up tart bounce off the side of my 1st car when i was driving through town one night. Totally her fault too for being blindly drunk and wearing absolutely stupid shoes. I didnt report it but i bet she ached abit the next morning!

This happen to me about 8 years ago.

Going along about 40 dual carriage way in the outside lane a girl decides to run across in front of the car in the inside lane and I think she was meant to go behind my car but she ran straight into the side of my car. I spun her and she broke her ankle twist fracture and it was poking out of her sock (not nice). car behind had to mount the curb to miss her he was my witness. found out she was deaf and dumb at the time she couldn't talk right and kept trying to stand up and i thought i did that too her and had to keep her sitting down.

police come took statement and breath sample etc and sent me on my way as the only damage to my car was a wing mirror. wasn't my fault as their was a crossing less than 20m away.

Something about civil liberties. The safety is provided and if you choose not to use it you to blame. it like not wearing your seat belt is their for you safety you choose not to use it you at fault.

I was advised to tell my insurance company as soon as possible they come get statement draw things up and are ready for any claim that may come. As the claimant has three year after the day of the accident to claim.

Problem is you lose your no claims pending those three years or earlier if it shown it's not your fault. then your no claims come back plus any discount you would of incurred over them three year or shorter.

after the accident i didn't drive for three weeks and still get nervous as i have to take the same road every day.
