Yeah that's me! Yeah I put it on gti set up to stiff the whole lot up! And that made a huge difference! I'm thinking putting 40 mm drops on it.

yeh 40mm would be cool, mines really low but to be honest the shit roads round here dont help, I'm starting to wonder what they actually do with your road tax money because they definatly arnt spending it on fixing roads!!

The car was off the road for 3 days, but that as only because I was at college during the days, so had to do it in the evening! I spent £30 on a vw pedal box.... It's not too hard tbh, the only thing that took time was the shear bolts, had to drill them out!

I paid £20 fo the bars, soooo not too bad! I am just looking for the metal cage now! Then I will be done!

Naaa vw aren't aren't doing it anymore.... I believe it was 8-9 years then they would do it. Mine went in December or january, so I just fell short!

Well Its on the way out, I would do it myself but I'm busy at work fixing planes and i dont have a suitable place to do it! at least this way il get the reciept for the service book too. I know a guy who is a vw specialist anyway so he gives me good deals. Also we're not sure if its just the pedal box, might be clutch too, basically for ages its been a bit hard to get into gear and generally feels wrong so hes going to investigate

btw if you ever get funny idle problems, take your throttle body apart and clean it, did it to mine a while ago fixed the problem straight away!

yeh its not covered at vw anymore, I head it was just gti pedal boxs that were anyway,I do know how to do them but i dont have the time its booked in for a mate to look at I've explained in the post below lol

One of the air pipes was completely perished and my egr valve was leaking and that was a common fault for give the exhaust light on the dashboard! Yeah I got my stuff from a friends garage as he is a vw specialist! So get it at traders price.... Sorted!

I just did it on the driveway at home, the steering column was a pain to get out!

Yeah mine was just like that, it was the clutch side of the pedal box that had snapped off..... Driving round a roundabout when it breaks is a little scarey tbh, with cars racing round and you almost stopped dead! Haa couldn't get it into any gear

Yeh its a good fix, bit of carb cleaner sorted it right out :) I get the abs light on every now and then because the sensor has little moods now the cars so low haha,

ahh fair play! its good knwoing people in the trade isnt it :) its anoying how car maufacturers just make some bits out of shit to dave money! i was a car mechanic for a while anyway so most stuff i do myself if I've got the time, yeh i bet! its the clutch side thats fucked on mine aswell. fingers crossed it lasts another couple of weeks before its fixed!

Well, after some knob slammed their door into the side of my car when i was parked in southampton i was not amused, but luckily the trusty t-cut sorted it all out :) also gave it a wash so thought if was time for a clean(er) update!!

Thanks mate! The bonnet bra still gets mixed reviews but it was nice and clean so i felt it was time to whip it out the boot :)

Yeah, the first time I have been out in the car all week. Been driving the parents car as they were away, so thought it best I give mine a run in...... Bad decision.

I lost all power, I was crawling around, I wa getting power intervals, foot to the floor and struggling with 2000 rpm, so went straight to the garage, and it's booked in for the whole day tomorrow, I would usually get under the bonnet and have a look, but in this weather 'i think not'.

Right, bit of an update, got some new top mounts through for my coilovers and fixed them, they are now back on the car and to celebrate I bought some dice dustcaps too, wonder how long it will be before some little pikey has them whipped off and on his mountain bike!?!

Also I just ordered some headlight tints from www.lamin-x.co.uk so expect some fresh updates for the exterior soon!

Its all pre cut mate, but comes in different sizes. you just measure your lights and get a sheet thats big enough, When i say pre cut I mean cut into sheets, dont think you can get it already the shape of the light, But apparently its easy to fit using a squidgy etc
