id go to jail for smoking pot, i believe its our god given right to toke something thats sprouted out the from the ground, I've told coppers this when I've been stopped for it. its my hard earned money and ill allowed to waste it, how i want, when i want.

on the other hand, id rather not have my car crushed to save a few pennies from my insurance premium, and have the potential of an insurer failing to pay out in the event of a claim where i may bump into someone and cause them injury.

my aunts a copper in walsall so if i find your registration details i might drop her a message ;)

my reg is m106 frg mate go for it, I'm sure your aunt will be really interested in a kid with undeclared springs when theres drug dealers and rapists around

mate you couldnt tell 'cuntfeatures' from a bananna tree look how wound up your getting off some kid on a forum I'm sure thats a main quality girls go for, pot smoking angry people in need of a hair cut.

well considering shes a traffic cop and not a drugs officer, they would gladly crush a car for having no insurance and slap you a nice fine, makes up the quotas ;)

and to answer your initial question

cost - £565

http://www.clubpolo.co.uk/forum/index.php?...60&hl=turbo

cost of watching you fail - priceless

isnt aggression a side effect of cannabis.

oh and you really think your toking something thats just came out the ground? think about it mate that shit your smoking is far from natural. the stuff that is put on that so that these scum bags can put every penny towards there guns and brothells, fair play if you grow your own plant and have a few spliffs off that every now again, but this hard earned money your wasting you have no idea what murderers and rapists you are funding, so before you say I'm retarded? look past that bag of weed your buying and grow up a bit

ok great i look forward to my car being crushed, you obviously have a great idea how policing works as you know you can just tell your aunty a reg and she will go find it for you!, no.

and in reply to your last post, thanks isnt that easier then trying to insult someone asking a general question.

no its not easier, because your asking a question thats been asked a million times.

and I'm just telling you the facts about car insurance, the only people who dont declare on here are the younger lot who cant afford the mods, and unfortunatly are at a higher risk of crashing statisically.

your wanting to put forced induction on the engine, so your furhter increasing your chances on crashing, by significantly increasing the power output of your engine.

I've been there and done it mate, getting done for no insurance, i was driving a car on a provisional license at 17 and some woman crashed into my, my insurance was voided and i was shafted for 5 years with massive premiums.

and boredom at work and annoyance that i pay a levied premium for my 120bhp declared limit with any mods, yet a fair few on here openly discuss not declaring mods.

if you want to roll with no mods its your choice, i wont be a saint and say I've never done it before, i have when i was young, but i was slightly more savvy.

engine mods tho, a wise copper will pick up on them and they are getting hotter on declared mods, they never used to give a fuck.

and your a car enthusiast, last thing you want is some plod siezing or crushing your car, and you also getting points and a fine, as itll end up costing you far more in the long run.

ill gladly help anyone on here that helps themselves, as i wouldnt have been able to do all the things I've done on my car without the help of a few on here, and utilising the mass resources available!

good luck mate, but seriously declare or dont bother, its just not worth the risk for a relatively short term cash saving.

peace and hair grease

an iduction kit/exhaust isnt going to do any harm mate but forced induction is a different matter, my old polo was remapped and proved 139hp with no mods declaired as i am 20 and cant afford the discrimanation insurance prices but I'm as safe as i can be as i dont drive like a fool.

i see what your saying about your not going to declare it as its exspensive, plus I've not declaired my mods. but the thing is a turbo is a little differnt lol my mate crashed his clio with exhaust and induction kit and no one could give a toss and insurance said nothing, i think they wouldnt be pleased if they saw great big fat turbo there tho

itll just cost a fair bit if they void your insurnace.

its your decission tho mate :-)

Big tits rich- You'll be better off starting with a remap, its cheaper and a good way of releasing extra horses from your motor. Also, a supercharger and turbo will require your engine to be remapped anyway to get the best from it.

If the remap isn't enough , try running different fuel mixes with appropriate maps - things like nitromethane or MMT / powertane .

If you still want more power, stick a high lift cam in you engine!

I'd bet that you could do all of these and still have money to spare from the cost of a good turbo/supercharger job.

And Saf- http://www.youtube.com/watch#!v=s4cJtW...feature=related

For the record, in no way do i endorse the use of cannabis or recreational drugs :D

Thanks lads I probably would never end up doing something like this anyway for someone as mechanically minded as me it would be easier to buy a faster car then turbo it and it is the younger lads with undeclared mods because most can't afford to declare them and we just want nice nippy cars like you older lot but I see where your coming from you are right, and I listen alot more when your not calling me a idiot :p thanks dudes

undeclared mods = FAIL.

Another factor to the high price of insurance these days :(

And for the record, mr grungeisdead is a very knowledgeable character on here and helped me many a time when I'm stuck or need another pair of hands. What he does in his spare time has no relevance to this topic.

Anyway.....back on topic

you know what, i've got a few spare turbo's knocking around, and i dont care if the valver that's in my pickup blows up becuase i'm replacing it with a 1.6 soon

i wonder if i should graft a turbo onto it to see how long it lasts??

lol

tbh, I'm with Saf'ster on this

I fucking HATE people who don't declare mods. When you crash into me because you couldn't handle the boost, then your insurance doesn't pay out. Brilliant that aint it. And theres a chance as you live in walsall

Welcome to the real world mate

Cant wait to say this when you post up in a few months saying u crashed n insurance is void

Yeah, ill stop being a keyboard warrior now.

Like a werewolf me, the moon comes out and i go all gangsta on peoples ass

haha that was exactly my sentiments but with a g-lader

do it lad

Unless your thrashing it or a copper heres your car dumping its tits off heres not going to wanna look under your bonnet.

My freind (richhasbigtits COUSEN!) got his 1.1 corsa impounded oh and its has a 2.0 redtop in yeah.. the copper even drove the car and didnt notice the power. The corsa was matt black on lenso's and has no interia with green paint inside. Didnt look as if it would pass a mot. But all he got for that was a fine for getting it out the impound and 3 points for a loose battery.

And these were traffic cops.

and drugs are bad ;)

ok then,

my question is, why bother paying for insurance, if its effectively null and void.

and dont believe everything a teacher tells you. mmmkay

Dont listen to saf mr richhasbigtits, my brothers best mates cousins uncles sisters boyfriend put a 2.0 turbo into his 1.0 corsa and didnt declare it, when he got pulled the copper just said "goes well for a 1.0 doesnt it" then they had a drag race down the duel carriageway they were on. He won by miles, but the copper didnt care about him not declaring the mods, he was just annoyed that he got beat by a 1.0 corsa!

True story

trust me dude, police are clamping on it,

i got pulled in the mk2, instantly they thought i was a criminal as I'm young, so phoned up my insurance.

Thus red faced coppers was left at the road disapointed they haven't robbed anyone legaly.

I pay insurance because i dont want to go down the road have a traffic cop come on the opposite side of the road and have his little computer thing beeping its tits off cause a car just went past with no insurance.

It is effectively void yes.. but ALOTTT of cars are. Even with people not knowing, Ok some one needs new pads.. they take it to a garage and can only get that hands on frodo race pads. They buy these and BAM its void cause its a perfermance upgrade. A car needs a new exhaust so he has a stainless steel one made up so it dont break again, and BAM again. Worst thig is a kid could call up his insuarnce company and say I've just had a stainless steel exhaust put on my car so its stronger and saves me on repair bills , its exactly the same as the original but stainless. I GARENTEE you they say no your young we wont insure you because were nice people.

Insurance companys fuck me over all the time and rip me off, so i say fuck em back il do what i want to my car and wont inform you. Its a risk I'm willing to take!

When i was with tesco they wouldnt let me have a headunit in my car .. or it would be void. Now try getting your hands on a 1991 civic EG original headunit. LOL fuck thatt its bollox so i slammed it on some fat fives got a headunit and a straight through!

easssyy!

Don’t mean to jump on the bandwagon... well I sort of am but anyway.

Just looked at the whole topic and I agree, If you cant afford to insure your car with mods , don’t do it....

I’m 18 years old , Considered a kid to some of you oldies on here :p however I'm still on provisional. The car is getting collies this weekend and some other bits they WILL be declared even though it will cost me 300 more a year. What’s the point in paying for void insurance??? Fair enough you don’t want the ANPR cameras to go off or whatever there called so you don’t get pulled. If you crash depending on if your caught, your screwed. Youl be left with a bigger bill then if you paied out that few hundred more or few quid more……

If your going to mod, Pay the extra to actually insure the car properly.

/rant

Edit: I suppose it comes down to probability of being caught and probability of crashing. Generally speaking it is the young ones who don’t declare. Also more likely to show off to friend ect … do the math

most braking modifications wont increase premiums, if you get a stainless steel exhaust that is built to OE spec, it wont provide any power increase. If you get a performance replacement, then obviously you'd need to declare it.

you can say you can guarantee they will no longer insure you, however are you an underwriter? how can that be true for all circumstances?

I put a stainless exhaust on a car and declared it, it cost me 30 quid in extra premiums over the year, which was pittance, and that was back when i was 19.

its a risk you may be willing to take, but your in the wrong, so dont be surprised when people call you a cock. if you are going to take the risk, dont brag about it on forums like it makes you a hard man. if you are going to roll undeclared, keep it schtum, otherwise noobs will come on here and think its OK.

and the main reason our premiums are so high,is due to the fact of so many uninsured drivers on the road, and part of our premium goes towards the motors insurance beauru who pay out in the case of someone being hit by an uninsured driver.

if everyone paid insurance and didnt fuck about, premiums would be cheaper for everyone.

tesco and mainstream insurers have never been good for modifications, becuase they want to offer cheapear rates to those driving std cars and who are less likely to be involved in an accident because they naturally dont want to pay out.

just think if you do actually get caught, by one arsey copper and you get done for no insurance, you probaby wont be able to afford to insure a car for 2-3 years as you premiums will be over 100% higher minimum, trust me, been there done that

my mate had a 106 gti with a carbon induction kit and supersprint exhaust and a stainless fannymold and he crashed it and wrote it off on the side of the road and it was un drivable, he ripped the parts off and said the pikeys must have stole them. job done.

it works both ways, you declare mods then you pay more, you dont declare mods and dont crash youve just saved money.

i wont declare my mods as i have the oem bits at home! if i crash my car and it is still drivable then ill take it home and put the oem bits back on! if its not drivable then ill take the bits off and say the pikys nicked them, they cant prove it!

Just remember kids...failure to declare mods to your insurance company

can result in you losing you driving licence if you get caught.

I have no sympathy for anyone who has modifications on their car, fails to

inform their insurance company and gets caught by the cops and busted...

Serves them fooking right i say...

if its not drivable then ill take the bits off and say the pikys nicked them, they cant prove it!

and if you are trapped in it? or police are called immediately?
