I have no idea what I'm doing here with the wiring,

I've got a red and a brown wire coming wrapped in black, I'm guessing thats the power cable from the battery and its earth

the red is going to a red on the left of the conector block (block goes into headunit)

Then I've got 2 browns, a red and a blue wrapped in black,

the 2 browns are going to 2 browns, the reds going to 2 reds and the blue is going to a red

I've just run an external power cable direct from battery to headunit and nothing

Any ideas peoples

i can take pictures if needed,

just dont wanna be driving round with no music

Cmon guys, surely someone with a MK2 could pop their stereo out, only take a matter of seconds

right i dont have a mk2,

but usually,

brown/black is common

yellow is constant live (battery, to save your setting)

red is ignition live (when u turn you are keys it puts power to turn it on)

blue is remote/ arial (some stereos will have one for each) but thet do the same thing either turn on the motor for the arial, or your amp etc

there may also be an illumination. if your stereo has this, your car wont. u can put one in, but thts another kettle of fish.

obviously this is all on your powerblock not the output block.

check you have actully made connections correctly. if you have. fuses? are they all good? if still not workin, check the wiring thts already in the car. there all pretty simple but will cause alot of problems.

id suject a multimeter is used.

Never touched wiring before and it was starting to annoy me

I've even run an earth and live straight from battery to headunit and nothing

but all fuses seem fine and the fuse in the headunit is fine

I think it maye be the wiring going into the block connector

ill keep fiddling!
