hey I'm new and the run about!

Featured Replies

hi there I'm alex from burton upon trent and today i have purchased my first german car which is a S reg polo 1.0 in silver which cost me a total of £375 and is my extremely cheap run about, been about in it today and i just love the fact of how cheap it is to run a 1.0 litre again, my running costs and been slashed by over 50%(compared to my clio trophy) but i dont ever plan to modify it at all as its just to get me from A to B unless you lot can change my mind for me!

it is complete standard and has loads of rusty bits around the rear arches, a few scrapes here and there but it still goes very strong with 118k on the clock, and because polo begins with a P i have decided to call it POVERTY!

anyways folks be nice and pictures will follow tomorrow, just dont expect anything too spectacular lol!

hey! i was thinking of making a few alterations and i know a few alterations will end up spiraling out of control! but i am a big fan of euro'd polos and a old mate of mine got her pink polo into "revs" about 6 years ago

I'm thinking at the min of some cheap lowering springs and some bigger wheels from the vw range cause the grip around corners is a bit scary lol! the rust issue isnt really a major one, its solid in all the right places so if i did end up loving it i may just get some new rear arches welded on! but at the min I'm saving pictures and keeping an eye out on parts that could make a difference for small outlay

cheers

piccys!

that rust doesnt look as bad as i have seen on some 6n`s should be easy enough to sort with some sand paper and primer for the time being and will stop it spreading. there are loads of things you can do with theses cars to make them look nice and for little money as well if you keep your eyes on the parts section coilies and springs come up quite regular for the 6n and wheels are very easy to find if you know were to look id start with ebay or the parts section on here good luck bud

Not a bad little motor! Shame about the bodywork though...

Loving the rear Zender spoiler, highly desireable!

'' a old mate of mine got her pink polo into "revs" about 6 years ago ''

i remember this the title was something like ''girls alowered'' or something along those lines.

was a nice car had the cream and pink leather interior iirc

and yeah your rust doesnt look too bad.

and you should just drop it and then leave it completely as it is if you dont want to do much to it

anyway if you do decide to go the whole hog then keep us updated :D

yep i think it was the girls alowered issue, sadly the magazine was pinched along with my renault 5 turbo it was sitting in, but the car was recovered and semi restored later on in its life

but yes that polo now lives in the next village down from me, sadly i haven't got a clue about where vicki has gone, i think she met a guy and now he keeps her locked up in a dungeon cause noone has seen her for years, i miss her

hi folks just lil ol me again, well I've owned the polo for a few weeks now and i have done a few bits and bobs on it to make it look a bit more respectable lol!

anyways i have added a badgeless front grill, clear front repeaters, bbs wheels and coilovers, de-bumpstripped and de-badged

I'm really liking the way the car looks now, i even think it looks better cause its rusty! next up i may chequer the mirrors and roof, oh and full service and belts being done
