I'm planning on being a named driver on my dads policy but all out quotes suck because he cant use his no claims cause there being used on his van.

Some companies let you mirror the no claims and use them on the second policy... it wont technically be using the no claims but they will apply the same discount as if you did.

Another thing, (you may not want all this hassle but it will help)

Cancel your dads van policy. let him insure your polo with all his van no claims and you as a named driver. then let him reinsure his van without his no claims and pay him the difference of what he was paying before (however much hes out of pocket)

Hmm thanks mate. I'm 20 1 years driving and 3 points and i cant get a quote below 1400 for a 1L polo. and I'm not paying that so ill prob try that mirror claiming cheers man
