Well thats it done and signed for - go and pick it up on Friday!

I need a much bigger car as my 3rd kid is on the way! So i've been searching for a cheapish 7-seater and have been coming up a blank. Mainly as they are total pieces of crap! Either Jap-Crap or very old vauxhall Zafira's with a million miles on it! No thanks! So I went online and did a search and the VW Touran came up. so did a bit of research - cheap ones start about £5000-£8000, with new ones starting at over £16K!

So after a chance chat with the head sales exec at our local VW dealership - I mentioned what I was thinking about buying. He remebered me from buying hundreds of parts from them over the last 13 years, and said he had a trade-in Touran coming in on Saturday (today) but the mileage was too high for them to sell on the forecourt and would just go to auction. i asked how much he was going to sell it to the auction for. He checked the details of the car and got the paperwork out for the trade-in info. They were giving the current owner £3500 as a trade-in against a brand new Passat estate. So thats what he would take for it.

Its a metallic black 1.9 TDi PD (105bhp) 6 speed. no options on it other than the roof rails. A nice blank canvas for me to play with. Deposit paid - the rest I pay on Friday!

I've also found a genuine ABT front lower splitter (replaces the whole lower section of the bumper!) along with an ABT grill too!

All I have to do now is sell the Polo to finance new mods!

Nice one mate, i'd love to see one of these slammed. Make sure you get it chipped, i did it to my brother's golf with the same engine and it made such a massive difference!

remap already booked - should see about 150bhp out of it!!

I do a fair bit of mountain biking and see one out and about in the Scottish Borders when I'm up there. Slammed, black wheels, bike racks, tints in the back etc. Looks mint. Might be our next car and for £3500, bargain!

What mileage is it on out of interest? I've always like that shape Touran.

I dont intend to buy a bus myself, we got on fine in 7-seat estate cars - fond memories of Pug 505 GTi with three rows of seats,and particularly the Montego when we were facing out the back window waving to people!

But despite the Touran screaming 'safety paranoid parents' in the softest cotton-wool theme,when they're not looking like taxis, i think yours will look relatively good with your plans.

Its on 95k with a full VAg backed service history - along with a hug folder full of receipts. its just had 4 new michellin tyres 200 miles ago at a cost of £80 per tyre!

Coilover prices arent too bad either as its based on a mk5 golf platform! £150 is for a cheap set. £300 for decent set. £650 for top end ones! I just found a set of 18" Brabus Monoblocks on ebay! :)

Bargain price. Just be careful as these suffer fly wheel problems.

I absolutely love 505s! For some reason... lol

My aunt and uncle had a Montego estate (Vandem Plas model no less!) and remember the rear facing seats in the boot. Just image that getting through health & safety these days... Worse, just image being in those seats in a pile up. See everything coming towards you and then bang. Dead.
