Removing the centre consel for a mk2f/mk3

Featured Replies

After seeing a Polo today with no centre consel today, I liked the spacious look of it.

I removed the centre consel in mine and everything looked fine, apart from i couldnt seem to find a way to reattach the gear gaiter plastic mounts, which just clip into the consel!

I dont suppose anyone on here would know how I can get around this and fit the gaiter without the centre consel in place?

Thanks, Rich

You could hack up a spare centre console so you get the gaitor surround (with the rails to attach it the the exhaust tunnel) and remove the rest of the console...?

Think they are specific to the console, as non console models have a different shaped gaiter fitted.

Most of the none console models have a ribbed rubber gaitor from what I've seen.

Matt

Have a standard gaiter from a recent breaker I did, also have another console in a bready that doesn't come up under the dash. Will try and get a piccy tomorrow.

LOL - I went the other way and fitted a center console onto which the gater doesn't fit as its missing the clips!

Fancy a swop - mine for yours?

I actually have a choice: Leather or original rubber - both in good nick...

I'm Liverpool St way (EC2) Mon-Fri if you can make it in....
