you can just wire it in parallel to the crank position off ignition barrel.

so put ignition on with key & literally use the button to crank engine.

& you can still use the key to start if you put it parallel.

actaully maybe series, i dont know, been a long day.

someone will know which colour wires

well that was the ideea.. to still be able to use the key but also be able to use the button to start the engine. I don't want to eliminate the key and i'm gonna need to put it in the contact and turn it to "drive" or whatever is the name of that position where the sistems check begins before pushing the "start engine" button. Otherwise 1) the engine would die because of the immo (can be triked but still) and 2) the steering wheel would lock when turning :)

yeah my mate fitted one on his fiesta the other day, was easy to do, just a case of knowing which wires!

funny thing is the first journey he did with it fitted his headgasket went haha!

thats mainly due to the excess power gained when fitting the engine start button though... so beware headgasket failure after such a gainful modification.

Surely you can get a haynes manual and get the colour of the crank wire from there, then use the switch to drive the starter motor, hey presto :)

Surely i cannot or i wouldn't have asked :p

Noone?

Why?

i really dont get why you need one because you will need to tern the key anyway :retard:

James Bond spec Polo!

THATS WHY! :)

Come on dudes, why not just help the fella out??

I mean there is many people on here that have had other pointless and stupid mods done to their car thats surves lesser purpose.....

For example a rusty bonnet....or just rat in general.....or there is that guy whos put LED's by his fog lights.....

I mean WHY do we need any of that???? Its all pointless and serves just as a pointless or if not a more pointless reason for existance however the gent wants to do it.

I wouldnt mind having one.....it looks cool imo, some people are going to slate me for it, some people will say...."why do you want to pretend it something its not..." but i like it and there are other people here that do.

So if anyone could kindly help the gent out....and it would also help me in the process

I'm gonna tell you why:

1) I installed one of these: th_IMG_7510_c.jpg

and as it uses replica keys it's not as sturdy as one might think. So, after afew months of use, the key is showing signs of weekening from when i turn it in the ignition. If i have the button i don't need to turn the key to start the engine (the most stress on the key is when actualy starting the engine, not when "putting" the contact on).

2) This kind of key is very awkward to use because of the buttons on it. I keep locking/unlocking the car when i start the engine

3) It looks cool

Most people on this forum have modified their car in one way or another. I realy don't get these "WHY would you do that?" questions. Why would you install a GTI grill on a non GTI car? It certanly doesn't help with performance. You do it cause it looks cool.

i'd like to know, also like to know where i can buy one??

Surely you can just wire a positive feed from the solenoid to the switch. Annddd, I'm sure that the solenoid is under the fuse box in a 6n2, because i've heard it click when my battery has been flat.

So, a positive feed to the switch, then off the switch the the solenoid. This means the engine turns over when the solenoid is activated? No?

if your going to put a engine start button do it properly and fit a system like on a Renault laguna.

pop the card thing in and press the button.

best thing about the car

Why?

Why not?

since nobody else seems to know, on a golf mk3/90 spec mk2/corrado/early wired mk4 polo, it's a red/black wire.

I haven't really poked about mk5 polo wiring that much but I'd assume it's something similar.

Lol? How big are you hands

New problem:

4 wires to connect:

1) (-) this one is easy

2&3) "The green wire should be connected to Terminal 15(ign) behind the ignition switch, with another one connecting Terminal 50 behind the ignition switch aswell"(The power path from ign to the start motor).

I guess one connected to terminal 15 and one to terminal 50... not that hard.

4) "The red wire should be connected to terminal 15.(The power path that passes through ign.)

What does that mean? I mean, it can't be the same terminal 15 i connect the green wire to. Can anyone help?

i know what you mean about the keys mate, they're shit lol, I'm always locking and unlocking mine
