i then sold this to someone on the forum and got this little beast-

which ended up like this...

it was fun but i needed something abit cheaper to run and tbh even tho it was nippy i had more fun driving my polo than the golf so now i have returned back with another project-

i have already done a fair few bits and pieces to it, but it just needs a general tidy up in places which will be hopefully sorted soon, and a good going over with a variable speed polisher to get it gleaming again, thinking of going for a black roof maybe wingmirrors aswel and a new interior as these seats although there pretty clean are abit naff and offer no support what so ever

in the photos it doesnt look that low haha but it bloody is if anybody off here has seen it in life they will know how low it is!

let me know what you think

cheers joe

Cheers panda, yea I miss that polo :-( wish it had never of gone, I'm not sure on the brand I got it when i got the golf buy never fitted it, mounted it to the rear strut turrets with some self tappers, not sure if it really gives much of a difference for the might power under my bonnet haha but looks cool all the same

Nice. Saw that mk3 golf one time when i was in GSF before a heavy days work on my mk3. I had a standard mk3 GT in calypso green. Remember the roof and the wheels.

It was easy enough to do yea, bit of Mdf under the carpet cut to suit etc same with the carper I have put some sound deadening in the wheel well to stop most of the sound escaping that way, it sounds ok yea I don't like the lows to drown out the mids and highs of the music anyways but you still get the feel of bass when you get some dubstep or what ever on, easy enough to do just install the rest you would a normal sub and amp

quick little photo

Looks really good!

Is your sub in your spare wheel space? Because I really want to do a boot build just like that so I have more space, did you make it yourself or did it come like that with the car?

looked nicee the other day :)

looks mint mate i miss my old white 6n lol

Cheers guys, leedsike shame I was working and isn't get to have a chat dude,

yea into the wheel well, yea fitte it my self pretty simple today just like installing any other sub tbh except your making a false floor for it to sit on easy enough to do tho

Oh right cool, you couldn't get a few pictures of it for me could you cause I really want to make my own, or is there a guide you used to help you make yours?

  • Author

na no guide dude, its pretty simple tbh.

all you need is abit of mdf to make the false floor, cut it to size to fit underneath your carpet , mark out where you want to sit your sub cut it out usuing a jigsaw or what ever place it into your boot, carper over then top then cut the hole in your carpet thats lined up with the one for your sub in the wood, cut to suit and your sub will just pop straight in, wire up as you would any normal sub into the boot but this one your fastening to the false floor rather than it all sitting inside a sub box, run your amp and wire to to where ever you want i was going to hide it under the false floor and fasten it to the underside but found it easyer to screw it to the back of the seat

hope that helps

What back box have you got on there looks good not to big and not to subtle, what's the sound like on it
