hey, I'm 16 years old 17 in december this is my first car 47960 miles. I've give it a good clean and orderd some 40mm lowering springs of ebay so 40mm all round what should look decent IMO, now anyone know of any places i can order backbox's of the internet as i cant find them anywhere, I can see universal ones but i was wanting something diffrent from a universal one.

my car is a VW POLO MK3 1.0 K reg :)

that engine bay is immaculate

apart form that, there is a million and 1 possible mods you can do, have a scout around the website and pick up some ideas :)

I'm glad it is clean, It took a fair few hours to get it like that lol, and ye ill keep searching somethings should pop up before to long :) cant wait for my 17th so a can start attending cruises and car meets in it .

getting rid of that horrid air pan for a nice oval, chrome bolt on K&N filter will smarten the bay up a treat, and sounds a little meaty aswell :p

spot on mate! thats what I'm thinking of getting lol. my dad said something about the one thats on it now is bolted straight to the carb or something and he dosnt think the new K&N i get will fit and he said i might need to make an ajusment with some sort of hose so the air filter is in a diffrent part of engine bay like on the left where there is room, If you know what he means do u know a sloution for this so i can get my K&N?.

well if your thinking of a cone filter then you need an intake elbow from an old golf, ime talking about an old skool top mounted filter like this:

suits the style of the car better than a cone

i did have a cold air feed, the picture was taken mid engine swap when that one was all disconnected :)

thats a carb'ed engine not SPI. so make sure that in the link it says it will fit the SPI throttle body.

that engine bay is awsome. infact the whole car looks great. i hope you keep it looking standard..ish...id say black badges, remove the door strips. clear indies, hidden tail pipe.

if your paint and body work is as immacualte as it looks i wouldnt bother putting filler anywhere for a while keep its original shine

keep your rub strips god knows you will need them when you pass your test and they dont leave holes there held on with double sided tape a heat gun will help you get all of the stuff off

Nah mate detriming leaves no holes jus some sticky residue which bit of white sprit comes off fairly easy just leave the lil trim on the back arch on as tht one would leave holes i did mine last week looks so much beta :) give it ago

thats the way i would go if i had a polo in this colour because it works so well with black.

I don't wanna sound like an old goat but it would be worth getting an insurance quote before doing any mods. It would be shit if you got it looking mint then couldn't afford to insure it.
