My car is due for its MOT soon and i have a tiny crack in the rear breaklight, and the front part of the indicator lens is missing would this cause a fail for the MOT?

I think the crack would be put down as an advisory since whilst it can cause a problem, it isnt dangerous. The front part of the indicator lense? if you mean the colored cover then i think it might fail on that. Cant say for sure though. Thats just my personal opinion.

Yeah I've got clear front lights so its just a clear, would it be easier to replace it or find a new lense?

my rear light has a massive crack in - and it was letting in water so i put a discreet bit of duck tape on there. Its been through an mot - sailed through and it wasnt written down as an advisory either - hope this helps!

Edit: just been out and checked my car and the crack is over the reverse light.

Aslong as the lights are showing the colours that they should, you should be alright.

as long as the crack on the back isn't so bad that you can see white light from the bulb though it then you'll be ok.

and as for the front, again, as long as it lights up the right colour then it's fine. The front lens off the nearside indicator on my passat is missing and it went through an MOT OK. Might get advisories for them but shouldn't fail.

My indicator was full of water, but still worked and it passed.
