Hi all. New to this forum,

Just bought a 2001 gti and I'm having problems with remote locking. Basically the central locking works fine if lock manually at the door handle but the remote locking doesnt work.. Both fobs flash on the led's and have had new batteries and i have tried recoding them to the car as per autodata etc..Still no joy! Where is the sensor on the car for the remote.

Reason i ask is mine has an auto dimming interior mirror which fell off due to some numpty (previous owner) super glueing it onto the screen.. I have since been to vw and bought the correct adhesive for the mirror and refit it but still no joy. Wondered if the sensor was in the mirror??

Other than this little prob the car is great.. Its a 3 door,silver gti with climate, factory zenons, 70000 with full history.. The wife drives an 02 golf GT-TDi 130.. Had it years!! Awesome bit of kit

Hey dude i cant help you too much with the Keyfob but the sensor is definately not in the interior mirror.I beleive it's under the dash somewhere.If you join this forum too and post in the correct GTI section I'm sure you'll get a decent reply.
