Hi guys,

lowered the snotrocket on some TA Technix but the back is nowhere near as low as the front! Yet its wound all the way down :( I've read about removing the helper springs the the problems you get with them, i can live with having to fit them and remove them for the MOT, my main thing is i spotted something about bumpstops?

Now, mine have been cut down anyway and i dont think i've managed to hit them yet but if i do, can i just remove them? I'm assuming the bump stops are the rubber bushes on the main chromey shaft bit of the shock.

i would advise against removing the bump stops completely mate as they are there to stop your shock slamming in to your top mount.

If you do remove the helpers you don't have to go through the ballache of having to refit them for the mot. Just higher the coil overs until the spring is tight between the top cup and the adjuster when the car is jacked up.

Unless your bump stops are still really big i don't think it should be sitting on them with the helpers in, although saying that i have never had to remove the helpers on the rear. Even with them removed from the front the rears could match them with them still in so may be

it is sitting on the bump stops.

i wouldnt advise it with ta technix not great once removed i cut my bumpstops in half and they just bottomed out all the time and was a crap ride, I'm sure the rear is not higher than the front to be fair if there all dropped to the bottom of the coils as theyll all be the same height and you dont want reverse rake!!!

removing the helpers doesn't effect the ride at all, the only reason you experianced that was because you set them too low.

And the only way he will get reverse rake is if he sets them to have it. Removing the helpers doesn't prevent you from being able to set your ride height.

maybe the rears arent set up right? would have thought they should go just as low as the fronts?

Well i thought that myself tbh? I had the coilies off on the passenger side as i couldnt adjust them and had to break them apart to get everything loose again, now the side i tooka part is all the way down, the other side is all the way up, yet they're level?!

I'ma cry. Haha.

EDIT: Bump stops have been cut down to about an inch and a half long? I've never bottomed out on them when they were slammed on the cordoba they came off :)
