in a bit of a pickle

Featured Replies

hi all, was wondering if anyone could help, i recently got my bag stole with my only set of car keys in there, and i had left my car (1.0L 6n) down my friends road. thing is my insurance and tax runs out either tommoro or thursday so it cant be on the road, i phoned up my brakedown company and they said they could tow me home but would have to charge me extra to bypass the steering lock to get it on the back of the truck, i was wondering if anything can be done to bypass this myself, atm i can still get into my car due to a dodgey window and was thinkin of maybe just hotwiring it to get it home but i have no idear about how steering locks work? my friend tells me that if i get 3 people turning my steering wheel as hard as they can itl brake? is this true? and if so is there any risk of me braking my steering collumn?

my dads sorted me new locks an an ignition barrel with keys but cant get them til next weekend. i am abit worried as i dont want to go back to my car and find the cops have towed and crushed it for not bein taxed/insured

thanks

tom

thanx anyway

You could just get your own recovery sorted?

They usually put plastic trays under the wheels so they can slide it about and whinch it onto the truck without removing the steering lock.
