right then, this is the repaint weekend.

i started work at 8.30 this morning, finished at 5...went and picked my missus up and got some munch and beer and was back at my work for 6.

this is what i got done between 6 and 9.30 tonight.

got my chew on with some chinese and beer.

the parts are off.

and how the car was sat within 45mins.

stripped the TT flap down

unnecessary shit that wasnt required stripped off.

re prepped the sill as i wasnt happy with it.

got some primer on it.

bonnets all prepped.

both sills got masked off for stone chip.

got the sills brush sealed and stone chipped.

started flatting the primer.

how i left her for the night.

so after a 13hr working day id had enough...back in tomorrow with 2 blokes i work with to get it finished prepped and painted.

Awesome.

Can I come see it once it's done. I love looking at fresh paint :p lo

Pop up today or tomorrow if you want.

Monday I won't be at work, I'll be up my mates gaff flat and polishing it.

right...after a late night last night, i was back in this morning early to get it painted.

i called in a favour from a bloke i work with [the other painter whose taught me everything i know]

stripped the TT flap down.

prepped it up and filled some small nicks.

got rid of the tyre pressure sticker off of the flap.

by 9.30 the parts ready for paint started piling up.

by 10 the bonnet, bumpers, door handles, 6n2 stubbys, TT flap and headlight surround went in for paint.

quick coat of etch primer on the flap.

quick coat of white wet-on-wet primer on bumpers, bonnet, plinth and TT flap.

and heres the motherload.

all painted with a lovely out the gun finish.

by 1 the car itself was ready so in it went and an hour later it was like this.

all masked up on stands ready for paint.

all this paintwork calls for a light refreshement.

set the camera onto timer to get some action shots.

and how she ended up after a good going over.

i stood back and almost cried cause of how happy i was.

all the hard work seems worth it.

again, out the gun finish but it will be seeing the strong end of a polishing mop on monday to get it purely glistening.

[confession: there is 1 or 2 small runs in it, but they should block out]

self timer again...standing proud of my work and proof that it was done with my own fair hands.

and a couple more for good measures.

tomorrow i will be going in and with the aid of someone else i work with, we will get it all built up so i can drive it again.

It does indeed, them devilbiss gins are nice to use, used a few at college when I did paint side

Just doing body this year, I miss paint lol :( ao much easier than jigging etc.

Cars going to look so nice all built up

Just hope you don't get a parking dint in the 1st day of it being built!! Nothing worse IMO!

We've got 6 Devilbiss guns and 1 Iwata.

I was naughty and bought a £600 limited edition Sata 4000b. Limited to 1500 world-wide and I got the last one in the country.

Door shuts are now painted and the cars semi built up.

And yes I will be at UD. gonna try and get it indoors if I can.

Looking good pal, nice spraybooth - ours is horrible compaired... look forward to seeing it all together. Whats next?
