wow I wasn't saying you haven't done an epic job to get it to the point it is at now! You're right not many people could do all that in a month and you have done a top job. Was just a bit of constructive like cleaning up paint spots on rears, blacking the splitter to get rid the paint on that just little bits that you will no doubt do I am sure.

No hardship mate, I did all I could...just got to final finish it now.

There on the to do list along with taking a run out of one of the doorshuts it haha.

As for the splitter, I may swap it for a 6n2 GTI number.

I can see your temptation as I'm running one and they do look sweet but at the same time it is nice to be a bit different with the splitter you're currently running.

Nice to see someone running the original headlights and pulling it off as well. Just a thought but have you ever checked up on the price of a brand new OEM set? As even though yours aren't in bad condition my dad did that with his corrado when his were in similar condition as yours are now and it just made so much difference to the front end it was unreal

Ye, I've only seen a few Caddy splitters on a 6n but I have a mate who used to work as a parts man at TPS, so he gets massive discount on VW bits and a brand new splitter would be cheap as chips.

I have a set of Inpros under my bed, I don't run them cause there LHD and the bulb holders have come loose...I was thinking of seeing if I could split both sets of headlights and swap the glasses over so I run OEM lights with Inpros glasses.

Yeah I know the joys of LHD lights as I'm running LHD Daylines. Sounds like it would be worth a go splitting them and trying it as I imagine you can probably pick up a set of them up cheap and all!

As for the headlights this is just an idea mate , I thing you should split them and do the edges in the red marble of your roof , wheels and steering wheel bud , that would be crazy mate never seen that done before ? Also, have you got a video of popping your TT cap whilst it's on the car? I remember seeing a test video and it packed quite a punch! Just interested to see how sturdy it is as I'll be going down the self prep/budget paint job route at some point, now that she's all structurally sound and you're giving me ideas! Cheers.

Dropped some parts off at the retrimmers and pick them up in a few weeks.

Taken a delivery of something, so can get some interior work cracked on with.

got a call this morning from the trimmer saying my parts were ready for collection.

so got down there to pick them up.

got my gearknob retrimmed cause the original red leather was a slightly different colour...now it matches.

had my parcel shelf Bentley diamond stitched in red leather.

onto building the gearknob back up.

and fitted in place.

i know it looks a little rough around the edges on the top, but thatll work itself out as i use it.

more interior updates to come when i pull my finger out.
