Along with my smoothed 8v, 2 bumper grills, badged grill, 8v lower rear valance and my mates smoothed Mk2 Jetta bumper.

That's just first prime, still got loads to do. Gonna be pulling some late nights.

  • You don't know the half of it 😉 Possibly ye. Didn't get indoors...again. Obviously not sticking my cock in the right arseholes. Don't think they can appreciate a home grown self built car, that hasn

  • Looks so nice!# Love the colour on those wheels.

  • i dont have any centres on them, there just steels. i didnt have chance to repaint them before i put them on. i sold my G60s for £200, bought these for £50 and then they ended up going on the car

Get the finger out Rob what's in the box

Yeah, what on earth is in that box?

Really can't be bothered, means having the car off the road and I've got no where to do that sort of work.

Looking at the car today and the winter has seriously taken its toll. Arches, sills and front wing edges :( makes me sad we can't have all year good weather.

Won't be sorted for UD, but I will shortly after.

Tell me about it, this years taking its toll on mine.

It's coming off the road end of this year, I'm starting from scratch with it ;)

Using them daily is just gay, obv a cars there to be used, but fucks you off when you put all the effort time and money in and some salt ruins it over a couple of months.

Need to talk to you at UD about some paint related stuff, not for the coupe though :ninja:

What do you pair do with your cars? they should be effected that bad, especially yours rob if you have put the effort in to eliminate the rust in the past, shouldn't come back if you sorted it properly surely.

Mines not so bad, I'm just a picky nice person with paintwork. and some knobend has scuffed my rear quarter which doesn't help lol.

I never wash mine through winter either, its had 1 wash in about 3 months  I like it when its all filthy :?

Sills have gone on the seams. One side needs cutting and replacing, one side will be ok.

Rear arches, scrubbed constant for about 15miles down a country track and boiled the paint.

Front wings, stones chips that have gone rusty.

All general wear and tear of daily use tbh.

Toby, I'll await that conversation.

You need to roll your arches then brother, its not like your even that low.

Winter batters stuff in proper daily use.

Everything was so fresh under my car last summer, few weeks of salt and it goes to shit

Same here, my polo has been resprayed last year and is now rusting in several places, so disheartening!

The little glips of that front bumper, it looks awesome from what i can see! Love it :) Keeping any eye on this build, not a fan of the BBS's purly because i find them the most boring wheels after rotiflops. Keep it up tho

^^^ gutted, shame really, our shitty rods just don't cut it!

Hope it all gets sorted my favourite polo :)

That's a great idea. Oh wait...they are rolled completely flat and there only single skin, as I chopped the inner arches.

Yes it's not the lowest, but tbh, your 6n was hardly lower than mine.

How come I got "if they were done properly" etc and Tech got "gutted". Is it cause of my job my cars not allowed to rust?

Tech, the BBS will be done tastefully and in keeping with the rest of the car. Chances are, new coils will be ordered, chassis will be notched and the car coming down.

This seems so bitter for some reason. Where the fucks the love?

I feel like you both need a big hug or something

I doubt its old rust coming back through, it's just chips etc causing new rust.

I'm sure i remember some sort of conversation (possibly drunk) about these wheels. I have faith that they will be awesome ;)

But lets face it, wont ever be as sick as that 106 Rob, sorry to break it to you.

I have no idea to what extent your arches are rolled just seems odd that people are able to tuck wider wheels without rubbing issues that the only reason I questioned if they had been rolled, if that's the case the so be it you cant do anything about it.

The phrase "if they were done properly" wasn't implying that you hadn't it was simply a question asking if the rust had been eliminated in the first place and the correct precautions taken then why should it come back? I'm only asking this as I feel you should know and be able to give a clear answer? It would be a shame if everyone spent 100's of hours on there cars eliminating rust and applying the correct techniques to prevent its return for it to come back and bite them in the ass!!

Tech got a "gutted" as he clearly backed up the point that its not due to anything you have done, if a car has had a full respray as he said his did then this can still happen, therefore the gutted is related to you, Tech, Toby and anyone else who said this has happened to them.

In regards to my car not been as low, why did you bring that up? I have never once compared this to my car and never would, this has had a lot of time effort and money spent improving the car and believe me Rob I think its clear that you have done an amazing job! Its a million times the car it used to be and as I said in regards to your bumper, prove us wrong and make it work, it will be awesome!

I'm one of the cars biggest fans (you clearly cant see that) and as a good friend of mine I feel you should be able to take on any constructive criticism I may have to offer.

Would you rather me lie and say I love every last detail? ..........didn't think so.

Keep up the work mate, I hope you sort out any issues with rust or damage the shitty road conditions have caused!

Right now a question...... after all your extensive arch work is there anything else that can be done to enable less scrubbing? will the new BBS be wider or not?

i see you giving little digs at people all over the place dude. wether you mean it in that way or not. its no wonder people are getting assy

Is that not a dig at me... if you look at my digs they are at people who are my friends, Toby and Rob.....

Any other time I comment is to congratulate and appreciate something someone has done. If I don't like something I will state it, no point not telling the truth, and if I do say I don't like something it will always be backed up with a comment of what else I do like and/or some advice on what I may have done instead.

nah I'm just saying. I've seen a few comments from you recently even to me when you were going on about my engine setup ect that come accross as a little rude and as if you know better

obviously over the internet you cant tell the way in which it was written ect and people take things the wrong way and that cant really be helped sometimes, but people dont always realise straight away if you get what i mean?

its not a dig at you atall.

As discussed Ric, that's slightly different but cheers for the advice, maybe I will just add smiley faces everywhere then people may see I'm been positive :) :) :) :)

haha yeah would probably help lol!

I've seen it happen alot on here tbh, people trying to help but it comes accross in a different way ect.

anyway sorry rob. as you were! lol
