The scrubbing is down to the coilovers. There fucked. They were on the car when I bought it 4yrs ago. There insanely soft, 2 people sat on the boot lip and the arches sit on the tyres.

The only rust on the arches are down to boiled paint. There's nothing severe and terminal there.

The reason I brought yours up was because everyone goes on "needs more lows...needs spacing...needs more stretch" etc and I was simply saying, you can't comment on height etc.

Your right, you can't get across expressions and how things come across in typing words.

The BBS are going to be narrower. There high offset been 001's (ET20 I think) so there gonna be 7" front, standard 0.5" dishes refurbed and 7.5" rear with new 1" dishes. As said, link that with new coilovers, a notch and skinny ass tyres. I'm not going for width, I'm going for fitment. Gonna be flush front with a slight bit of poke on the rear.

I don't believe I need to "prove anyone wrong", I'm doing the bumper cause other than a photoshop, as far as I'm aware it's never been done.

Spose you want an update?

I rough primered the bumper, polyester reface primered it, reprimed it and painted it. The later 3 things done since lastnight.

That's all your getting. See more of it at UD. Should be on a club stand again outside.

Also got the badge backing painted. Yes, I'm going back to a badged grill.

  • You don't know the half of it 😉 Possibly ye. Didn't get indoors...again. Obviously not sticking my cock in the right arseholes. Don't think they can appreciate a home grown self built car, that hasn

  • Looks so nice!# Love the colour on those wheels.

  • i dont have any centres on them, there just steels. i didnt have chance to repaint them before i put them on. i sold my G60s for £200, bought these for £50 and then they ended up going on the car

Mate, you need to stop justifying yourself....I've said for years that you need to do this or that and youve always stuck to your guns and just said " hey you know what, its my car" stick with that and crack on...looks good and keep moving forward

Haha I'll always do what I want and listen to others suggestions.

Bumper and badged grill are now on the car. You'll have to see the car on my clubs club stand at UD cause I'm posting now pics until afterwards.

Also had the first batch of parts arrive for the RM's :)

Cracking work dude, I can't lie, I'm not a fan of this particular 6n, but I appreciate the work gone in to it, keep it up!

yer yer yer - i hate the car mate not my taste not my style but i can see youve put a lot of work in.

Na man I'm not a hater, but that that's one way of making your self look like a doosh, well done.

Meh Kiz's comment makes sense, his car is good and has had a lot of effort but I still don't like lots of things about it lol. Everyone's opinion is different

What the hell is going on here the car is gorgeous and the end result is testimony to the work put into it. I'd expect to see this kinda controversy on a 16 year olds stickerbombed MOT failure but here? :disgust: I'm glad my old rims are going on this dude, top banana

I quite like Robs 6n, especially for the fact he's done it all himself basically

I really don't care whether people like it or not. My car...my way...my rules.

Always set out to be different and do things my way.

As Harris said, everything on the car other than the leather work and welding has been done by my own hands and I'm proud of that. Anyone can "build" a car if it means paying £3000 to have the bodywork done etc, I actually have built the car myself. Full repaint plus paint, panels and materials for £250 is the way.

Curious Nick, what don't you like?

Josh, new bolts and 2 new 1" dishes have arrived. Just gotta order new centres, ali hex nuts new valves. Then I'll get them powder coated and sort some rubber. There having the works.

I saw this on another forum and it's so true

I'd rather lose by a mile because I built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me. Your car is your story, so don't let someone else write the book.

I was on about Kiz's rob, I like yours, apart from the spoiler I think lol.

Ahh, that was on the car when I bought it.

The only reason it's still on is cause I can't get it off without breaking something. It's held on by 2 10mm bolts and a whole tube of tiger seal haha.

I just like how 6n roofs slope down slightly and how they look when lowered lots with the tiny flick on the boot. But you don't have it :( haha. Can't wait to see this bumper man

I do have one pic of it now it's on the car ;) only 2 people have seen it though.

Had a twitchy bum moment today, bottomed the splitter out on a dip and thought hope that hasn't cracked the bumper. Didn't, but the brand new splitter has its first graze haha.

At least you use your pretty car

yeah man it is good that you've done the work yourself, I'm exactly the same, nobody else has ever worked on my car since I've owned it!

There was only ever apreaciation aimed at you!

You can respray my car anyday for £250 rob

Great work, not going to get to see it untill GTI festival though

Could always send me a picture as 3 people then have seen it and 3 is a lucky number :ninja:

If people don't like the car, that's fine...aslong as they can appreciate that's all that matters.

Only way I'd repaint a car for £250 is if it's already prepped, everythings bought and ready and all I had to do was walk in a paint and back out haha.

Pictures of the bumper will be up Sunday night/Monday after the debut.

Deal!! hold you to that ;) haha!!!

i look forward to seeing this tomorrow 8-)

It's all ready.

Hoovered, washed, bumper was fitted earlier in the week. All I have to do is park up, quick detail spray, remove reg plate and it's ready.

UD has come and gone so time to show the bumper.

Custom bumper with 6n2 GTI splitter and badged grill.

Looks like a fatter, cleaner looking 8v bumper.

I like it :-D , Something a bit more different to the typical smoothed off 16 or 8v bumpers and you have pulled it off really well, good work dude  .

So when should we expect an update on the BBS's? Really looking forward to seeing what you get up to with those ;) .

i admire the work, not a fan of the outcome... but feck it its your car lol

also cant wait to see this on the bbs's
