  • Looks so nice!# Love the colour on those wheels.

  • i dont have any centres on them, there just steels. i didnt have chance to repaint them before i put them on. i sold my G60s for £200, bought these for £50 and then they ended up going on the car

Nah man, it sits and runs nice as it is tbh.

Fair one dude - not a hater just looked a little Revere rakey - ( might be a case of should have went to spec savers :p )

my apologies if you took offence :) because i genuinely <3 your car ;)

Nah man, no worries.

I might take it about lower after the winter months but for now I'm happy with it.

Also it's got to come off the road to have a rust hole welded up in the engine bay...bottom of the suspension turret by the bulkhead. I'll get a picture later.

But while it's off the road, I may do something special to it swell ;)

if your welding in the bay......

  • Author

no the bays not getting smoothed Toby lol.

just welding a hole up...its an MOT failure kind of hole.

ill let you know when the "something specials" going on and you can come up and have a butchers.

  • 3 months later...

where did you get the In.Pro's from fella?

been after a set for ages!!

cheers

got any new pics mate?

has this got a high level brake light? and where did you get the spoiler from if you dont mind me asking?

  • 2 weeks later...

i got them off a mate of mine, think he got them off Venom motorsport.

tbh mate, if it does have one I've never noticed haha...but ye, looking at some pictures it does.

the spoiler was an ebay special i think, the previous owner had it fitted.

the cars in winter mode at the moment, looks quite sad for itself.

this is the only recent pictures i have:

picture009qw.jpg

looking rather sorry for itself when it snowed.

in this picture was where i had to ditch it cause i couldnt make it to where i wanted lol.

so i haven't updated on a while, so this is whats happened with the Polo over the last few months.

i had a wheel baring explode on me:

picture001xy.jpg

picture003dnm.jpg

new vs. old:

picture004og.jpg

the beading went on my N/S/R wheel. luckily it went flat while it was sat in the car park at work and i had my winter wheels at work, so i swapped them over then:

picture005gh.jpg

I've also had a 12" vibe sub wired into the boot and I've had to pay alot of money to have my HIDs rewired because the original wiring was shit and my headlights cut out while coming back from work.

then at the end of November i took the car off the road for the weekend to get rid of a nice hole haha

the new car lift my step dad bought was immense, means the car can be lifted to a maximum height of 4ft in the air and it tilts forward and backward.

so 1st thing was get it up:

2usc1s1.jpg

2412em8.jpg

this was the main thing which needed fixing...very nice hole at the bottom of the suspension turret:

2aepgeq.jpg

so with the suspension off and upon further inspection, we were left with this:

2drju9.jpg

2wgrupw.jpg

2gxjuk3.jpg

then a plate was made up to cover the hole:

euomzr.jpg

thats where we left it on the saturday as it was getting rather cold and we thought it was a good point to call it a night.

now as you know, its a ball ache stopping work to go in the house for a piss...so what do you do? put up a board and use a watering can:

2s0h54x.jpg

so bright and early sunday morning, me and my step dad were back outside to get back to it.

first off was get the plate welded:

2pycaie.jpg

while the metal was still hot, i covered the welded area with brush on sealer [the heat helped the sealer spread easier]

am9jid.jpg

the inside was primed, sealed and painted [not the neatest job, but you can hardly see it]

2a84841.jpg

it also needed a new CV boot, so while everything was off...that was done to:

154fvj6.jpg

raas15.jpg

with everything done and put back together, the last thing to do was shutz the wheel arch:

28ip9wp.jpg

last job was to fit a new lambda sensor and then the car was put back down:

2r3b38n.jpg

check charge of the battery and it was all done:

20uu4w1.jpg

so thats the progress of the car up until today.

I've got a few new parts i need to fit and I'm also on the hunt for some suitable material to retrim my headlining and A,B,C pillars before U.D.

i think you should get your steels sprayed black with orange centres!

and that jack is siiiccckkkk!

and how have you mounted you HID's? have you got any pics aswell please! i want to hide mine away but there isnt much room and the wiring looks a mess!

WIN!

  • Author

i liked the G's but i couldnt be arsed raising the suspension to put them on, so got the 14" versions cheap and made a good profit haha.

mate that lift is awesome!!!! must make life alot easier!!

quick question...did you ever get hold of any replica bolts for your RS'S I'm in need of some

  • Author

it wasnt cheap and it isnt easy to get under a low car lol...but my god it makes the job a piece of piss.

you can tilt it forwards or backwards, giving you about 4ft height or flat which gives about 2.5ft.

i did ye, but you wont get any.

i found someone who had the holes welded up and smoothed, so didnt need his anymore and i got them for fuck all.

but you wont find any, i even rang Dubmeister and they couldnt help.

are they 6n2 door handles?

  • Author

Nah, standard 6n handles delocked and colour coded.

  • Author

so i gave up on the red camo material cause i was finding it really hard to track down.

i went for my 2nd option.

so today i got a lovely delivery from the post man.

1m by 3m of material:

picture037u.jpg

picture038j.jpg

and 4 tins of Trim Fix:

picture040c.jpg

so possibly this weekend, probably next weekend i will get on and sort it along with trying to find a pair of Mk3 Golf convertible black sunvisors and paint the grab handles matte black.

so I've had a really productive day today that i even managed to get started on the interior.

got all the pillars done, just need to do the headlining.

the original panels, poorly done and used shit glue...was a fucker to get the material off:

snc15335.jpg

material cut to size:

snc15336.jpg

one of the trimmed 'C' panel covers:

snc15338.jpg

one 'B' pillar done and one just before:

snc15341.jpg

both done:

snc15342.jpg

both 'A' pillars done:

snc15343.jpg

used my nans garage as a "workshop" lol:

snc15340.jpg

quick picture of them in place:

snc15344.jpg

I'm really happy with how theyve come out considering I've never trimmed anything...got a couple of creases but only in the first panel i did and i learnt from that mistake.

ill try and get the headlining done one day after work or next weekend.

let me know what you reckon.

good workmanship n all but imho I just think the cars really clean and simple, which works well and looks awesome, just seems the pillars make it a little messy inside.

part from that, I love this car :)

i know what your saying, but i wanted something different from having one flat colour or using a duvet cover like yourself.

so on thursday i had a new gearbox and clutch fitted, was ment to get it back the same day but at 4.30 i got a call saying the gear selector was broke...so needless to say, i didnt get the car back until late friday after managing to source a replacement.

my folks picked my car up and dropped it off at my work, but within 10mins i was on my way up to where i had the work done to complain as my front bumper was scuffed to fuck and the leather on my drivers doorcard was black with dirty...they pulled it straight into there shop and sorted the issues out.

god knows what the last owner was thinking, but he seriously fucked it and decided to fit it back to the box.

this is what the old one was like:

picture045mx.jpg

picture047v.jpg

ANYWAY...i got the rest of the interior done today.

i have to say, retrimming a headlining is hard as fuck to do on your own, but i managed it.

first off...what purpose does the cardboard serve on the inside of the roof?

snc15350.jpg

first off was to trim the little section that goes at the back off the roof by the boot:

snc15353.jpg

snc15356.jpg

so then it was onto the roof lining itself...as said above, it wasnt easy, but i took my time and got there eventually.

what was there originally:

snc15358.jpg

stripped it all off:

snc15360.jpg

i was extremely fucking lucky, the material was only just wide enough to cover the roof:

snc15361.jpg

then time to get sticking...instead of glueing the whole thing in one go, i decided to do it in 4" sections:

snc15364.jpg

after about an hour and a half, it was done...there is a few creases in it, but tbh I'm really happy with it considering i did it all on my own...i couldve done with an extra pair of hands to help with stretching the material while i smoothed it into place:

snc15365.jpg

snc15366.jpg

random odds and sods i needed/wanted...black plastic cover for the inside of the tailgate, caps for the seat belt anchors and Mk3 Golf convertible sunvisors:

snc15368.jpg

then i thought as i had the sticker lying about, id stick it on:

snc15370.jpg

interior plastics plastic primed:

picture049i.jpg

interior plastics painted:

picture050u.jpg

interior plastics done...the grab handles are out of a Mk3 Golf...got them off a mate at Dub Mania last year and the white bits on the handles is just a bit of dust, there not chipped or whatever:

what seats are they? and was that suede you used on the headline before? cars looking sweet. I'm trying to get my 16v into shape but my holiday is eaten my money at the moment lol

  • Author

the seats are out of an Alfa Romeo 147.

the headlining was done by the last owner and it was faux suede...he used shit glue which made it a pig to get the material off.

i was thinking of fitting alfa seats wasnt sure how much of a bitch it would be to fit the rears in. I'm thinking of going suede but not to sure yet

  • Author

6hrs of fabrication on the front seat rails and £200 to sort the rears.

It wasn't easy but it's nice to be the first to do something different and have genuine front and rears Alfa's.
