So got to work today, turned onto the trading estate and hit a patch of sheet black ice. From then on I was a passenger and couldn't do anything.

Hitting a concrete kerb like this definatly hurts haha

This is one of the reasons I run winters!

Anyone want to buy a custom bumper? £1000 only bumped once. Unfortunately it's to far gone to repair, so don't think you'll be seeing it again.

Luckily it's all cosmetic, no mechanical damage. Just require new wing, grill surround and bumper iron. All of which I've already sourced and I have my old valver bumper that I've put on

Yay it's coming back with vegance! can't wait to see it at action again (assuming your coming again)

  • Author

This isn't even all of it. Wait until you see the surprises...much more coming over the next couple of months which will raise the game totally.

I won't see you until Action? That sucks. But of course I'll be there. Edition who?

That sounds intriguing!! Erm I no it would be GTI fest actually wouldn't it as that's before? Won't be at RR day so whatever's after that I think

  • Author

It all needs to be ready for an Ultimate Dubs unveiling but I'm still waiting on the main parts to turn up. Which I was hoping for already tbh. But these things happen.

Ye I'll be at GTI aswell, I'm gonna try and get along to more shows than I did last year.

You don't know the half of it 😉

Possibly ye.

Didn't get indoors...again. Obviously not sticking my cock in the right arseholes. Don't think they can appreciate a home grown self built car, that hasn't been cheque book built with a name attached to it.

This is so exciting

I get jealous reading your thread every time as I just wish I could do what you do and have the same ideas!!!

Please be at tatton park this year again? :o

  • Author

If all goes to plan, there be some nice features on it including more custom pieces.

I'll be there again, I'm there every year. Hopefully I'll be with the car this time so it can be fully judged, rather than losing points.

I'm gonna try and get along to more shows than I did last year.

This!!!

How straight was that wing dude??

  • Author

Don't know yet, haven't offered it up.

May try and do it this weekend, it looks straight enough.

Love this car! Top work mate :) looks ace

Good work Rob, looks so clean

Save praise until the final (for now) products is unveiled.

Clean? Not so much haha.

VrS7PFa.jpg

love you Rob, even though your bumper is cursed.

Shall be awesomes when done

Hey dude, could've sworn I saw you did your seats with some leather stuff? I tried going back to look but couldn't find any, I've just got hold of some leather seats but will need cleaned/treated kinda thing, What did you use for this? Any tips on applying etc?

  • Author

There is a full post about what I used and how in this build thread somewhere.

I use Zymol leather cleaner with a soft nail brush and warm water, plenty of cotton rags to wipe excess off etc and then once left to dry, I go over the seats with another cotton reg and Meguairs leather conditioner and buff off with a seperate rag.

I couldn't not remake the custom bumper. So this is Mk2.

Picked up a lower valance and rear bumper this morning from my local breakers.

YiK027r.jpg

Doing it slightly different from last time to make it easier on myself and quicker to do. As they say, you learn by your mistakes. Doing it this way looks a mess, but the bumper will have an overall better shape for when the filler work starts.

So after 8hrs, this is where I'm at. Only got one valver grill and tow cap to sort and then it's on to filler work.

H0B1rgn.jpg

People ask how easy was it to make this bumper, well this is how much metal and plastic needs to be trimmed and cut off. So it shows its not a straight forward job and not one to be done by an amateur in the back garden.

S6mmWPP.jpg

Also, does anyone want an 8v splitter off the valance shown above? The splitters mint and only has one or two small nicks. Would be a shame to throw it away.

Your a mad man Rob.

Keep it up tho ;)
