  • i dont have any centres on them, there just steels. i didnt have chance to repaint them before i put them on. i sold my G60s for £200, bought these for £50 and then they ended up going on the car

Cheers chaps.

Well...got into work yesterday and finished the plastic welding (1 remaining grill and tow cap) then got a nice skim of fibre fill on.

sM7Mys5.jpg

Knocked that off then got onto the filler work. Now, to guarentee I had a nice sharp swage line by the end product, I taped it off and did all the filler work below first.

lhnlyDw.jpg

Once I'd done that, I taped the filler work off and skimmed the top of the swage line. Meaning once flatted I had a lovely sharp line.

All ready for its first primer.

Last night before I left work I got some polyester spray filler (Reface) on the bumper and this morning I came in and blocked it through.

YBvH6ur.jpg

Then straight back into the spray booth and got some high build primer on it.

gZ77PeE.jpg

While that was on bake in the booth, I flatted the primer on the Jap boot and Hofeles. Once off bake, that was flatted and then all in the booth.

It's brilliant working in a bodyshop.

Sweet! Yeah bit of a bonus you working in a bodyshop, wouldn't like to imagine how much it would have cost you so far getting a place to do it for you!

Matt it would be up in the thousands haha. I do have to pay for materials and booth time, but it's not alot tbh.

Love you to Nicky and Eric, it's easier than washing the car haha.

Custom door handle progress.

All marked up.

Over to a local machinist we use.

b2K1aGx.jpg

All milled out. Now to tidy them up cause it turns out there hollow not solid like I thought, bit of filler and it'll be alright.

What I'm trying to do is completely stupid and should not be attempted by someone who doesn't understand what there doing and what hard graft is.

A repaint in 2 days.

So it got stripped.

Discovered a previous repair that needed redoing. Didn't even know it'd been welded there.

YVnyM9y.jpg

Chopped out

TiIgmng.jpg

Fresh metal welded in

Mid process. Decided to redo the rear arches cause by my own admission, I rushed them last time and I wasn't happy with them.

Then came primer.

Tomorrow I'll do some sealer work, stone chip the sills, prep and repaint AND refit it.

Forgot to post this the other day, but I managed to get it repainted and rebuilt in 2 days. Drove it home Saturday evening.

Got it prepped, sealed, stone guarded and masked.

lNKEpTM.jpg

SmBNrLZ.jpg

And painted. Will give it a quick flat and polish at the weekend and black wax oil the wheel arches.

Y1p2ESt.jpg

I masked the door so I could open and close so it was possible for me to paint part way into the door shut at the same time.

Also today, I had chance to get the new grill surround and custom handles into paint.

AzR26cT.jpg

SmIU9qE.jpg

That's now all the paintwork done. Just need to give the car a flat and polish and get all the new painted parts fitted to the car, which I'll do over the next few weeks.

Got the car into the workshop today.

Front end off for some work.

Fitted a new bumper iron cause mine was fucked from the accident.

h8NOvDX.jpg

Then all back together with new grill surround, freshly made bumper and the Hofeles.

This has already caused a shit load of controversy and split opinions on Instagram and Facebook. But I love it. Something completely different.

Obviously needs the BBS's back on and to be lowered back down to lose the splitter to floor gap.

Happy comments and criticisms people.

Edited by vdoubleu

Looks awesome buddy and youve always done whatever you want with no fucks given!!!

LOVE IT

Bloody hell Sean, where have you been haha.

There staying colour coded, I think white and black is the only colour that can pull them off CC.

Anyway, got the car into work again today.

Started with the interior.

Old fabric removed off the headlining and pillars.

lL8DSXC.jpg

And retrimmed in this.

a5ZEg5U.jpg

It's not perfect by along way. I'm a painter not a trimmer. Plus the fabric pulled when the glue set leaving some creases.

Then got the boot off. Hmm don't think that's been cleaned since it was built.

2ceO0A3.jpg

Much better.

AsmWBdk.jpg

Jap boot fitted with the popper all wired in. Still need to fit the standard 8v rears instead of the 6n2s.

8QYnrm2.jpg

Custom handles fitted.

AFJnKvx.jpg

All the interior back in.

VNPrYIw.jpg

WOW WOW WOW!!!

I keep posting on this thread but its ace, not to sure on the lights as need something else in there to make them blend in a wee more.

Love the door handles not seen that before but looks awesome and the amazing front bumper is back and better than before.

Keep it up pal.

I'm loving the headlights, is the roof wrapped?

I know what it needs.... hehehehe

Update time!!

So with the run up to Ultimate Dubs, I got the car into work, flat and polished the sides and clay barred and polished the bonnet.

jISRSXq.jpg

sN4hp9Q.jpg

With 6 day until Ultimate Dubs...yes, 6 days, the car then went on a holiday to my mates company to have the air fitted and to get chassis notched. Turned out to be a lot more work than we had both anticipated.

After he had pulled out all the stops and missing parts had been ordered, I got the car back the day before UD!!!! Talk about cutting it fine.

It's a 4-way manual system. TA struts with Rubena bags, 1/4" line, Accuair valve control, Viair 380c compressor, 4 gallon tank etc.etc.

Centre console install.

hN95Mms.jpg

Only picture I have of the boot install, the board is carpeted now and I still need to paint the tank colour I want. Didn't have chance to do it cause we just needed to get it in the car.

I will get a better picture tomorrow of it.

Gx190xN.jpg

Now for pictures.

First picture I took of it bagged.

hdKs5in.jpg

These pictures aren't mine, there from various people which are of better quality than what I took.

jN4Z8rh.png

XJEplzd.jpg

LYlxjLq.jpg

Q0qflT5.jpg

And some of my own.

X5YMUlO.jpg

qNKD5X2.jpg

And the obligatory "face down, arse up"

N8pSjAm.jpg

yYX9DfT.jpg

Still todo: paint the tank as the blacks boring, paint the backs of the seats, sort a slow leak on the passenger rear bag, modify the front struts to give me drop when air'd out and get illuminating gauges cause you can't see them at night.
