right then, heres the latest edition to the build thread.

i didnt update this as i wanted it to be seen first at Dub Mania.

this was something i wanted to do for Ultimate Dubs, but due to circumstances it wasnt possible.

so with 2 weeks to Dub Mania i managed to get my car into the my mates [Al at Body Beautiful Cars] bodyshop.

stripped and prepped [tape on the glass is so i dont scratch the glass for anyone whose wondering]

cleaned, masked, cleaned again:

laying down the black base coat first:

once dry, its then marbled:

once dry, the reds added:

once dry, the lacquers added:

the finished result:

BUT...

thats not the end of it.

a week later this happened:

back in it went so i could flat the roof and have it relacquered:

the result is this...an absolute glass finish roof out of the gun:

simply unexplainable how good a painter my mate Al is...its pretty much an honour to work for him on saturdays.

with one week left and running out of time i got the last few pieces done.

picked this 6n2 roof rails up:

nice coating of gloss black:

they are direct fit, but you need to trim a bit of rubber first and seal at the ends by the windscreen once fitted:

i also fitted these Sparco pedals as mine were shagged and i wanted to be 'Polo Scene' and go full on JDM lol.

so thats the update on the Polo and how it sits today.

i just wanna say a major thanks to Al, with my ideas and his skill as painter a roof like this wouldnt be possible.

6n2 roof rails are also a big improvement, how much are they?

brand new £70 a side, plus £17.50 for the clips...and thats with my mates discount.

i got them for £60 the pair.

absolutley stunning relacquered roof mate i thought at 1st meh gloss black roof how shit. then booom marble unique and makes the car flow and with the wheels so much love it

superdan ye it is...seriously not cheap stuff.

Epic roof man :) seriously loving it but think you should have removed the aerial as it looks out of place now

for some reason I've never liked the aerial-less roof look.

plus i only had a small window to get it in and done.

needs different headlight then you may stand a chance of winning something

I was running Doms old Inpros but there fucked, the bulb holders come loose in one of them and I can't get inside it to fix it back.

The roof is pimp as fook love it top job

Polomon it is very similar but the more modern and easier technique.

You just scrunch a plastic bag or as you said, clingfilm up in your hand and dab away, twisting as you do it.

The joy is, you can do it any which way you want and I doesn't matter how shit it looks cause it all adds to the effect.

I was tempted to do something like that on the roof but incorporate the marble onto it...but when I stood and thought about it it was can be a hell of a lot more work.

it does say in the update, my mate painted it not me.

even though I'm a prepper and painter by trade, my mate Als simply gifted so i stripped and prepped it and entrusted him in painting it.

i help him out on saturdays and he pays me by letting me use his workshop and doing work on the car.
