call me a posh idiot by all meens but I'm geting right pissed off with scrap men going around , with their silly horns , shouting at the top of their voice , being able to hear them 10, 15 mins before they even come up my street , in their claped out old tranni flat bed covering the road with black smoke , looking for things to steel , can you call the police on them ? noise polution , begging , etc ??

iirc they must have a waste carriers license and be insured for business use when you see them report them!

if they are not legit they shouldn't be collecting scrap from peoples homes.

my mate has had 2 engines stolen from his yard couple of days after pikeys came looking for scrap and the police are useless even with cctv

My mate bought a transit and just drives around looking for metal and he makes roughly £150 a day from it.

No licenses or business insurance... complete and utter knockoff. lol

^^^ very true. I watched a pokey rummage through someones trailer looking for scrap. My mate always gets them trying to steal stuff with all the junk he has on his front yard. I'd report em for theft as saying they're unlicensed waste carriers and the police won't do shit as usual :(

I live in a quiet cul-de-sac, at least 50% of the people in the street are OAP's and the street is used for parking by parents as their is a tiny alleyway at the end that comes out right at the entrance of the primary school..

We literally get anywhere from 5-12 scrap men a day, as early as 8am, when the moms have filled the street up with cars...

They never get any scrap iron, no-one has any! Yet every day its the same old "anyy ollld scrap irryaaannnn"

I fucking hate them.

One came down my road a couple of days ago with a mega phone taped to the roof 'any scrap metal'.

i had my wellers sat outside my house the other week(refurbing them) and some feckin foriegner and his flat bed try to do one with them. went f in mad i tell you. the robbin twats. they also tried to take ma rents steel drain down pipe as it was down. there just cheeky feckers

And the worst is when they rob the drain covers! Fooking dangerous that is...
