but just wondering if rattle caning your car gives a good finish? thinking bout doing my polo matt black, but not sure?

its an ok finish, but better than rust! can come out quite patchy.

takes a while to get it right, if you do the car in a day like most people do, it'll be patchy to some extent, but if you take your time it can look pretty good, most people think mines vinyl wrapped.

all i say is FATCAPS and dont use monster, i am using MTN next time! but the black i used for my roof came out ok!!

if you're going black use simoniz matt black, can be bought off ebay or from your local eurocarparts for £3 a can! I use the cap off some filler primer i bought, its better than fat caps as it's a wide thin spray pattern if you know what i mean? But that won't help you much as I can't remember for the life of me what brand the primer was!

i got a good-ish finish woth a rattle can....but honestly taking my time i got a better finish with a small fine roller!!!

You would be surprised what you can do with a roller.

Theres something on a forum somewhere where the dudes rollered his dodge (or some American thing) and its better than what most can do with a proper spray gun.

You can get a nice finish on somthing small, but on large area's you havnt got the wide spray pattern like a spraygun has so tends to come out abit patchy.

Just take your time and put plenty of coats on and I'm sure its possible as iv never done a whole car with a rattle can.

I used monster paint and mine came out pretty good, I'm using MTN at the end of the month on my new car so if you haven't done it by then I'll let you know how they compare, like said above take your time and you'll be fine it's all in the prepping.

Just make sure you use the fat caps and have plenty fresh ones but not the stupidely fat ones as they dribble everywhere, as long as you've got plenty sandpaper and paint you can always correct your mistakes, hoped this helped here's how mine came out :)

all depends on how good you are at painting, but matt colours, especially matt black are a lot easier to get a flat colour with than a regular or even worse a metallic paint. I would not recommend trying to paint you whole car with a metallic colour, its very hard and the end result is very patch unless you are very skilled at painting. Stick to matt colours, and you should be okay!

I bought mine already Satin black out of a rattle can, and the monkey who had done it was clueless tbh!

Mine will be going gloss black now, professionally mind lol.

wow, really tempted to look into using a roller lol, the finish on all the cars in those two links is unbelievable lol.

using a roller is big in the air cooled scene me and my dad used to roller his camper all the time different colours etc :)

what paint do you use to roller your car? I'm going to matt my polo soon and am wondering what would be easiest :) and also whats the best value for money and finish whether i spray or roller I'm unsure but either any help would be brilliant

its amazing what you can do with a roller Lol! could you just use normal car paint? take it you dont need lacquer either? :/
