hopefully this week i should be buying my first polo , just in the middle of finishing my vw caddy project , and this is the new project , do i lower the 6n by coilovers or just change the springs?

i have seen on flea bay jamex springs , but how much do i lower it by?

i dont want to be scraping the floor , but i want it to sit nice and low?

Well if you get coliovers you can pick and choose what height you want to run at, springs you will be at a fixed height.

well kinda yeah and no , i am on a budget so i think springs will be best , i see on here some1 selling the whole set up

60/40 isnt that low, coilovers are the best option and since you can get a set for around £160 from ebay, then fit them yourself. there not exactly expensive now either.

thanks for the replies , I've been looking at coilies , i have v-maxx on my caddy and notice they are quite expensive , but good ? and the jamex ones are chepaer but whats the qulaity like?

cheap coilies = shit ride quality as the damping rates arent adjustable and often too hard!

but itll get you low, dont expect it to be anywhere near in the same league as comfort as your standard suspension

v-maxx are also cheap nasty things

i got raceland coilies, got mine for £230 from a local specialist, but go for about £160-200 i think,

and to be fair do the job just fine, bit bumpy but i suppose most coilovers will be when low

I've now slammed mine again after an MOT

If there are ANY speed bumps , ANY pot holes id advise not to wind them all the way down lol unless you know where to avoid them :)

With just me in the car I've just smashed the underside of the car severl times here in basingstoke.

If you get around the ARB issue, the driveshaft issue and like having only 10mm clearance between the road and the lowest point of the car!

Bollocks, not without a fuck off chassis notch and not if you plan on getting over anything bigger than 7mm, you'd bottom out on road camber - I did when mine was 100. 99/100 people who say they're -120 in a 6n are talking shite, for a start on the cheap brands you need the helpers out and rings right to the bottom, and a lot aren't even -120 then.
