Hi all, as i am a vw fan. i have recently inherrited an 86 polo it's only done 21k and the interior and body in very good condition.

Its completely standard, I cant make up my mind on what to do with it. whilst i would like to modify it, i think its a shame to change it.

I have searched and searched for modifications with no luck. can any advise if there are any? Cheers!!!!!!!!

Looks nice mate dont have to go all out as sometimes a few small subtle mods can make the world of a difference. Looks good though dude get some pictures up.

agree'd dont mod it, keep it stock, if you want to mod, by an old junker to do up and moddifiy as this looks tooo clean and nice to ruin with mods. As Higgo hes the man with the golden gun. i mean golden mk1 and its sooo nice kept standard.

I kind of dissagree with the whole "dont mod it thing......its too clean" I'm meen come on, yes its only done 21k, and yes its a little beuty to say the least but a few tastefull discreet mods could make this a show stopper!

fuck mods til youve done a front to back service. belts, tyres,padd/ shoes filters

Whislt i agree with the no mod thing a nice set of wheels and some lower spings and shocks are all totally reversable so you could put it back to standard if needs be. Just don't start painting/ratting/do stupid things to it.

i say mod the shit out of it, it's just a low milage mk2 breadvan and will never demand a decent resale price so you might as well enjoy it now. I think it would look the tits slammed on some awites with coded centers (think baige hustler), flared rear arch's and a AFH on bike carbs under the bonnet.

great bit of advice for you bud its your car you do what you want to it. as mclovin says it aint going to fetch a high resale value so mod it as you see fit

To me its not about resale value.. its having a tidy original car.. there are not that many about now! And in my opinion it would be a shame to mess with it too much hence reversible mods. Suspension, wheel etc.

But its your car so you have the right to do what you want to it :)

there are loads of mint low milage original mk2 sqaures around. They were the sort of cheap little car that old people bought to drive to and from the shops in. They pop up on the bay all the time

the rear window looks like that of a squareback. I could be wrong mind, the screen on my phone is only 2"x3" so it's not idea for trying to find little details in photos

I'm going with you walsh - to me on my 21" it looks like a loon, not a square. Hopefully more pictures will pop up so we can get a better look at it :)

stick some 80s vw wheels on it (tarantulas?) and a mk1 golf splitter just slides on i believe(must be the big splitter for visual effect)

imo coilies, a nice set of wheels, and thats it. both reversible, both enough to make an impact alone if done right.
