Mk3 Wheel Bearings

Featured Replies

As above really. Got a pair of struts to build up with new bearings... Just wondering if pattern bearings are just a waste of time or does the quality not vary between pattern and genuine wheel bearings?

I've just brought a set of brt bearings for mine and really it does not matter about vag parts its how you drive with them

Surely no matter how you drive the wheel rotates anyway?

I've herd GSF wheel bearings are pretty pants. I never had a problem with them but know a lad that went through 2 in 10k.

Used SKF and FAG wheel bearings in the past Martin and had no problems with them.

In fact it's FAG bearings that are on the G40's collies right now mate...

FAG & SKF should be ok but it's wrong to say that "any" will be fine. Some of the cheapo ones GSF sell are knwon to not last long.

gsf ones are terrible , id never suggest anyone to but thier polo ones

genuine /FAG /SKF

yeah- i went through a pair of front gsf in under a year 12k.. well annoying

brt bearing came from a proper bearing company who do only bearings for cars and they supply most company's eg wilko's and exhaust unlimited

My advice is to NOT use shite GSF bearings, CWOT imo. I'm using FAG bearings atm, which is holding up nicely lol. I know it sounds silly but just cause it came with a bag of grease make it appear superior already, y'know. Word of advice, avoid GSF bushes too!

Hope I helped out :)

What are the Orbis ones like?

Just fitted some rear ones when u put the new drums in. Cheap as so i suspect they wont last that long?

SHIT

I have a full set of GSF bearings in my room that I was gonna put on :( That's money down the drain :(

As far as I'm aware, Orbis are OEM quality.

As long as you didn't buy them from GSFs 50p range you'll be alright. Febi/SKF/FAG etc should all be OK.
