Ok so, I hated my trims, and have no money to buy wheels, so I decided to have a go at painting them.

The outer rim bit is quite rusty so the finish isn't great but I'm happy with the result.

And my step dad had a little brainwave which we just did for a laugh but I actually think looks cool!

And yes I know it needs slamming. A mixture of lack of cash and an ignorant parent is stopping me at the moment.

ey mate, no need to worry about that I've done the edsact same thing painted my original steelies for my mk3 polo coudnt afford alloys yet but nm anythings better than plastic trims :)

my steelies got painted white and blue dont worry about alloys there over rated

1. you damage an alloy it has to go for a refurb

2. steelies wont break the bank to paint

3. if your steelie gets kerbed you can just paint over the damage

4. steelies are cheap to replace

5. get them banded and they look even cooler

steelies have alot going for them if you aint got much cash

Banded steels are more expensive than most alloys.

But yeh, i rolled on hammerited steels for nearly 2 years. All good tbf

i know there expensive i was just pointing out that they are versatile

Sorted the pictures now!

Got some proper center bits on order.

Haha I have now! Just took the pictures straight after I'd finished. Got a GTi grille and new centre caps on order and I'll get some proper pictures up :)

Just used two hammerite rattle cans. I only did two coats on each wheel, and almost got away with using 1 can. So if you wanna be stingy, you could probably get away wth just one can, cause I did my drums as well.
