I bought an allegedly genuine one after a failed attempt with a cheapo one initially, and that was only about £15 from memory. Luckily, the bit with the electronics and the bit that I'd already transferred the immo chip into were not the same half, so I could make a hybrid fob out of the cheapo immo/key section and genuine 'tronics. 

 

But all that was before I realised that the door had to be locked using the key rather than the buttons on the fob, so it may be that the cheapo fob would've worked, never went back to try it.

 

After a bit of thought about this I would say it's probably a high chance of the cheapo fob. What I am now going to try is putting the transponder from Key C back into Key A where it originally came from.

 

I will try and start the car, if the immobilizer doesn't let me start the car then I guess, this would mean the transponder chip was damaged in the process of being taken out when I initially transferred it into key C? (it doesn't look like it has been damaged though on visual inspection)

 

Any how I will report back my findings.

Good morning guys,

 

I have great news, I went to try the above and as I was unscrewing the remote fob to get out my original transponder, I accidentally hit the remote lock button and I heard the doors lock! I can confirm this is now working!! 
 

One thought I have had about this was maybe the casing was screwed too tightly on the remote fob, perhaps a signal couldn’t quite get through? I am not 100% sure however.

 

I have also called up an auto lock smith local to me and will hopefully be getting the blank blade on the flip remote cut tonight. 
 

I will report back later to let you know if it works starting the car with the immobiliser! But judging from everyone else this shouldn’t be a problem.

yes yes! I am so happy with it! I went to sleep last night with the biggest headache going over all the potential things it could be, and just couldn’t believe it when it unlocked this morning, it’s made my day! 😄

Just had the remote flip key cut, can confirm it is unlocking the doors manually with the flip blade and starting the car! All done and working, it's been a journey. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this over the years. 🙂 I will keep an eye on this thread and try to help out anyone in future!

Sorry for late reply, it needs to end with E and be the H02/S0002 variant

Rclick flip blade should work, mine was purchased from rclick seller on ebay "VW Remote Control 3-button 434Mhz: 1J0 959 753 AH"

Okay someone please help. I know its a old thread but i like to keep things in one place.

 

I own a 2003 Polo. LHD, im from Slovenia. Is it possible that the car doesnt have any kind of central locking or is it more likely that its broken? I have to unlock every door individually. To unlock the back door i have to unlock the front and reach behind.

 

I want to setup remote locking so my wife will stop going nuts and I'm not sure how many parts I need and if it even worth it then. If i need to replace the locking mechanism in each door or even run wires all around the car that makes it very unlikely that I'll try this.

First Welcome to the forum.

 

It is quite possible that you have a basic spec where the locking was only by the drivers door lock, so it is quite possible that your drivers door lock mechanism has failed ( common problem with the internal micro switches) so it's not signalling the other locks to lock/unlock

My Polo 9N has the 6Q0 959 433 E and the car's remote locking works, but I don't have the function to raise and lower the windows remotely (holding down the lock or unlock button), just putting the key in the lock, I saw that the 9n3 has this function, can I exchange the comfort module for one from the 9n3? Here in Brazil, it is rare to have a Polo without remote locking,

Strange, because I don't think any in Europe do; the CAN-based window motors in 9N are more likely to be able to do this than the LIN-based ones in 9N3.

What window motor part numbers does your car have?

In Europe, late 9Ns and all 9N3s I believe have LIN-comms between the window motors, and those have no comms with anything central, so I don't think they can do anything via the remote signals.

Did I understand, what would LIN be? I had seen in several posts from Europe that holding the key in the lock in the lock or unlock position would raise or lower the windows, doesn't that work?
I've also seen a module called KVW100 that promises to activate this function via OBD2, but it's unfeasible to bring it to Brazil and using VCDS my central doesn't have the option to activate it like it does in the Golf, well, I'm a bit lost, especially since the comfort module code is the same in Brazil from 2003 to 2014 (the new Polo only came from 2015 for us) which makes it difficult to know which has the function and which doesn't

Yes, that does. That's an input directly into the window motor(s) from the lock(s), rather than a signal from something central like the CCU.

 

LIN is a cheaper, simpler version of communication network compared with CAN, LIN Bus Explained - A Simple Intro [2023] – CSS Electronics

You don't need to worry about that though, because your car is all CAN.

Im not sure if i’ll get a response anytime soon but i’ve just tried to locate my ccm which i managed to do so but i have absolutely no idea how to get it out any help would be appreciated as i’ve got a new one on the way this is on a uk polo 9n 2004 i can see it goes out by pushing it upwards but it just seems to start hitting a bunch of cables and cannot get out and i’m struggling with this as id have an awful time fitting the new one in if i managed to get it out

Sorry for bumping an old thread, but I would like some guidance.

After locating and checking the CCM unit, I found I have a 6Q0 959 433 H, H02/S0002 on my 9N3, which I was told was compatible with remote locking by someone online who had done the switch, however as I researched more, I can only see people using the E variant. Has anyone tried this with a H variant CCM? or would I be better with getting a E variant?

H is what you find in cars with central locking via key in door lock only. It doesn't contain the necessary components for remote C/L.

Needs to be the suffix E part.

Update: I got the new Ibiza CCM installed and my door module fixed. I linked my key today and its all working. Couldn't be happier.
