Guide: How To Install OEM Remote Central Locking In A Polo 9N With Original Parts

Featured Replies

Hello,

This is an old thread but I just wanted to say thank you and congratulations to StringsOnFore and everyone else who contributed with their own experiences on this!

I managed to get this to work after acquiring the parts needed. The CCM was from an Ibiza, and I found the chip part of the key original VW from a  spares shop.At last, I've got  the factory Remote Key function.

I only have one problem though. Contrary to everyone else, I can't get the remote windows roll-up/down to work on mine.

I have tried all types of different key presses (long, repeated etch) with no luck. Mine is a 5 door, 2 power windows version, so I configured the ccm at 00067, which tells it basically that there are 4/5 (+2) doors but only 2 of them have powered windows(+64),  and selective unlocking is not active (+1).

Is there something I might be missing? Is there a global setting elsewhere on VCDS that I might have forgotten to change?  I really wouldn't want to go the VDS Pro (no serial cable or serial port on laptop) or OBD2 specialized hack chips (locks CCM) for this, so, any help would be really appreciated.

Thanks,

Alex

First of all, thank you for taking time to write this up, very useful and helpful. However, I think there is some confusion between simply adding Remote Central Locking using your existing transpond

  • Yes, you can indeed recode the unit to a 5/3 door quite easily with VAG-COM/VCDS.

  • Thanks man, appreciate it. Ordered a CCM with key with a pre-programmed transponder, should be a plug and play so looking forward to it

Hi guys.

Resurrecting this old thread as I've just attempted to install on a friends polo. Module installed, coded etc, but I'm unable to get the remote to pair. Has anyone else had this issue and what was the solution?

The original module was 6q0959433h (H02/S0002) and I've got 6Q0 959 433 E (H01/0001) - I know some have said you need the right sub-variant but others have had no issues interchanging. All installed and coded with VCDS no problems, just unable to get the remote to pair. Tried the original method of ignition on, lock door and press unlock x2 but nothing. The remote we got was the 'AH' variant but everything I've read says this is interchangeable with 'DA' and some on here have had no issues.

Any help greatly appreciated!

Hey guys.

My first post here. My current ECU is 6Q0 959 433 G, i know I must replace it with 6Q0 959 433 E. However my current connector (6Q0 959 433 G) has only one socket, however the new one (6Q0 959 433 E) has three connecting sockets.

From earlier in this thread, someone who had the 6Q0 959 433 H part which had two connectors, was told to connect both and leave the third socket empty. Is this the same with me? Shall I only connect the central socket and leave the two on either side empty?

Thank you!

Hello,

Did you ever sort this out? When I did mine, I think i figured out that depending on the amount of doors your Polo has, you either connect only to the first slot(3-door), or both first slots (5-door). Don't take my word for it but I think the third slot is for the those with  factory alarm fitted. Hope this helps.

Will this work with my daughter 2006 polo ?

Good Day.

First of all thanks for the guide.

I bought a 2008 polo 9n3.
I followed your guide and bought the cable's,keys and central lock ecu.

Everything except vagtacho 3.01 work for me. Instead of vagtacho I used vag k+can commander 1.4.
Just wanted to say that for user that have a problem with vagtacho.

Thanks alot from the netherlands,

Thanks for this post, I've got the ccu unit swapped over, got the remote key and got it cut, swapped transponder from spare key.

Engine starts with key okay, I have a vw polo 3 door 9n3 on a 59 plate, if I lock the doors turning key in the lock it only locks the drivers door unless I turn to lock it again, its the same with unlocking it. The auto lock when I drive is not working. I've tried all sorts to pair the remote key with the car and nothing appears to work. Has anyone got any ideas?

Took a few attempts to register on this site, I'm a new vw polo owner, the above post is mine if anyone has any ideas I'd be much appreciated. Thank you.

The autolock or anti-hijack mode need to be coded into the CCU with VCDS and the same with the single door or all door lock/unlock

Thanks nige, I haven't got any software, I'd got a quote from my local locksmiths when I was there getting key cut, would you think this would be my best route to take now? Wouldn't mind paying for the software if reasonable price but not worth hundreds for a one off use.

I doubt the locksmith would have VCDS you might be better looking for an autoelectrician local to you, as they would possibly have the kit, you can get the VCDS lite for free just need the correct cable but I don't think it would give you the coding options as it is mainly for just reading the codes only with the full version can you do the coding

This is the cheapest full version https://www.gendan.co.uk/product_VCV23.html they also sell the lead to use with the lite version https://www.gendan.co.uk/product_VAGUSB.html it says to 2003 models but it will work on later models just not as fast as the HEX-CAN of the first link and some modules in the car it won't work with like the airbag as that only connects via the CANbus system

That's way too much and I still might not be able to use the software, yes it is an auto locksmiths too, I'd say he'd have the correct software but not sure, if your near to where I live in coventry or know anyone who is who would be willing to program this up for me at a cost of course I'd be most grateful, I am willing to travel but not too far though. Thanks for the links nige.

I've done a bit of searching and heard obdeleven and the carista app can change the settings for all doors unlock/auto unlock etc, then just a matter of trying to pair my remote with the ccu, might be different to 9n users as mines a later 59 plate 9n3, i have a obd mx Bluetooth scan tool so I'll try the carista app later, obdeleven needs its own adapter so I'll give that one a miss.

I wish I've not dived into this now without weighing my options, I'd deffinatelly recommend the rclick way to get this to work and I may even go down that route yet. If your confident on joining wires, testing with ohm resistors as my way is deffinatelly not a better way, some say it is as its oem and splicing wires etc, but we'll still be using a non oem remote unless you order a second hand one and the rclick way  is much cheaper too. I disagree with recommending any software that costs £225 when there's a much cheaper method and you can join the wires to indicators to get them working with remote, not sure on the autolock method with rclick as haven't looked into it yet.

I'll try to get my remote working first then decide and I'll post back.

I've followed this guide, like for like with parts and unless your willing to pay £45 pounds as I've been quoted on getting the key working by getting an auto locksmiths or even worse still buying the £225 software then I'd advise to stay away from this way. I'm sure a local garage will fit a rclick at a reasonable price if not confident enough to do it.

The Rclick will definately not do autolock at 10mph

Thank you Nige, it's not a biggie for me if the autolock works or not but good to know, it's just the double lock to lock all doors but even then I'd probably get used to it, main focus is to get this remote working 🙂

And I hope the indicators will flash too with the remote as it doesn't flash when use the key.

Just want to make others aware that I think the cheaper alternative (rclick) is probably the best way forward.

If you search 'VCDS Users UK' group on Facebook, you'll be able to find someone  in your area to code the anti- hijack, all-door unlock and remote, most likely for a few beer tokens. 👍

I'll try that thanks Mark, let's hope someone on there can do it

Just come back from my locksmiths and he ended up trying a new key and it's working now, the cheap ebay ones might be faulty, he said the lights on the remote key flickers differently, think they were surprised with changing from a non remote car to a remote one.

I'd recommend to buy the key from the locksmiths, not sure if mine was a fake key or just faulty.

Did you disconnect the battery when swapping the CCU?

Or installing different radio if connect wrong wires can cause problems. Hopefully you've fixed this or I'd see if anyone on here in your area can reset it for you at a small fee.

I've got it all working now I bought a different key and lights stayed on for about a day then went off cheers

Sharki, I had a similar problem, bought both key and ccm from ebay from different sellers, I haven't got vcds so ended up taking it to my local locksmiths as that one is very good at car keys, he said its showing but not locking/unlocking car, he tried pairing one of his keys with the car and it worked. I'd buy remote fob from locksmiths as ebay ones might not work. It was at a reasonable price too. Or you could try getting a key fob from a scrap yard as more likely not to be a fake, they might let you try a few if some won't work. Hope you get it working soon.

Roy. I got the key fob from my cousins fabia vrs that he broke, i shouldav took the ccm of him too then no need2 pair. When i click on pairing the ccm and fob using vcds, the ccm makes a click when i press a button on the remote. So i know its picking the signal up. I have even deleted the tried again but still no joy. Im thinking mayb the ccm is faulty?? I have enabled lock wen going 10mph and total unlock wen key is removed from ignition. So that works. But when i code the ccm i get different software coding. Id clicked the correct and even done a diff 1 both dont work.

I have no idea then, hope someone on here can sort it for you. If got key that you know works. There's a vcds Facebook page too but they tend to block users that use fake leads.
