you got spray at an angle if you spray at 45 degrees and make sure everywheres covered.

it helps if you use a different coloured primer to the top surface as you can see how thick the coat is.

u can put the bbs wheel on a traffic cone, so u can move the wheel, spin it, turn it ect.

and it puts the wheel on an angle too :)

Good idea...now where to get a traffic cone from?! Hmmm

I've done it, its not easy but its do-able

Just spray at the wheel from different angles. And keep doing so until you fill all the gaps!

i am mostly worried about preparation, poor prep= poor finish!!

tbh if you have the money, bead blast and powder coat is the way to go. its so time consuming to try a paint bbs style wheels and if you dont key the surface well they will just chip and flake.

yea that was my concern think u could be rite about powder coating

I've done it, but I'm an impatient little fucker and they look shit

I had them blasted

Gave it a quick rub down then primed. Painted straight onto the primer.

Theres a slight texture on them but its really not noticeable, there smooth to the touch thanks to the amount of clearcoat i put on.

Same here already started to flake and chip and didnt manage to get right in the little corners, can you get wheels shot blasted but protect the outter rim and lip?

State of our roads mate...thats not going to be a major ballache is it :lol:

A complete ballache lol,I would never do another set.If i had to i would get them chemically stripped/blasted and then powder coated.

Its all in the prep. I spent pretty much a whole day prepping my RMs for paint and they came out really really well. Gotta make sure you get into all the little nooks and crannies. All the bits that you think "I can't be arsed to get into that bit" are the most important bits to get into!

This is my first attempt, pretty bad in real life....gonna do it again tomo!
