Does anyone know why the Polo 6n 16v is insurance group 10.

The lupo sport which has the same engine and is even a bit quicker is only insurance group 6.

Ease of breaking in, ncap rating, carries an extra passenger over the lupo, the list goes on... Generally a higher risk vehicle.

I found out the other day its calculated on the cost of parts to repair it aswell... Which is probably why i can insure a 1.8 & 2.0 focus for the same price as my polo :p

^ yeah that too, and the desirability to thieves, and crash statistics...

Because they are too cool :p

Its like saying why is a 1.1 saxo more expensive to insure for me than my 1.4 8v polo :)

dude I'm having trouble insuring mine lol, all nice and modded ready for the road I'm just not legally allowed to drive it and show it off, sucks big time lol, the only way you can do it is if you have alot of no claims lol, my dad has to insure my car with his no claims and put me as a named driver in order for it to become reasonable but its still 1200 pounds... its insane lol
