1.0l Coupe, in need of some TLC

Featured Replies

I'm sadly having to sell my beloved Polo after only having it for 8 months. I'm in need of something bigger for carting people & bikes around, and the Polo can only really take 2 people & 2 bikes at a time, so I'm having to sell up.

The car has been with the same family since new (untill I bought it), and it was a friend's family, so I know it's been looked after. Although it is now starting to show it's age, but with some TLC from a Polo fanatic, it will have many years left in it.

The MOT is untill March 2011 & the tax till November 2010.

The main cosmetic imperfections are the left side of the car, it's obviously had a run in with a wall at some point, as there's a bit of denting to the left side & left door of the car. And this has been sprayed over with grey primer to stop any rusting. I do have a spare left door for the car, which is red, so will need respraying before fitting (or not!) but that will eliminate most of the damage. The only other cosmetic damage is that there is a fair bit of laquer peel across the bonnet, and other parts of the car where stickers have been fitted, and then removed. Normal for a car like this I think.

The car has had a new backbox fitted a matter of weeks ago, but since then, the one of mountings for the exhaust that come down from the car (excuse my lack of knowledge) has bent out of shape, meaning the exhaust has come un attatched from the car, and scraped along the road, so for the past few weeks, I've hardly driven the car, and the exhaust has been held up with god knows how many zip ties! So I'd really recommend not driving it too far/fast untill this problem hs been fixed (a case of welding I guess).

Other than that, the engine seems fine. Although the MOT says it has an oil leak somewhere. It can be a little slow to start, but has never once failed to start since I've had it. Maybe needs new spark plugs/leads to give it an extra lease of life?! One more thing, the driver's door handle is starting to come a bit loose, and I don't know how to tighten this, but it is all secure etc, I guess it's just a couple of screws to fix this?

The interior is very, very tidy for a car of this age, there may be 1 cigarette burn on the drivers seat (why!?), and a little dirt on the roof lining, but other than this it's perfect. It will also come fitted with a Sony CD player.

Ok, those are honestly all the main points that should be mentioned, the car drives really nicely, and like I say, always starts. It's super fun to drive & pretty nippy for a 1.0l too! Great for a project to do up into something super sweet! Or a 'do down' into a rat mobile! Here are the vitals (please read MOT Advisories):

***Make an offer if you're interested, I need rid of this as I have a new car now, and it's too good to scrap!!!***

Will need to arrange a time to view as the car is at my mum's house, a few miles from where I live. I will try & give you as much info over the phone/email as I can do, but as the car isn't at my house, it may be difficult. So obviously view if you're interested!
