Hi just wondering if the front wings on the mk4's are bolted on or welding on? The freebie car i got has a battered front wint so want to go to the scrappy and get a replacement but before i do that need to know how much work is involved?

i was just about to ask this, mine is rotten at the bottom but i've just sprayed it and didnt realise at the time, so want it off the car to weld up to make things easier haha

they are bolted on mate. theres about 8 bolts to undo.

take the arch liner off, and theres 2 bolts up near the door. theres a screw through the front bumper as well.

open the bonnet and you've got 4 bolts running down the top of the wing, and another on the black part where the indicator meets the headlight.

All the bolts are also 10mm, just so you take the right size to the breakers.

awesome topic. have the smallest amount of rudst at the end of my sill between there and my wing and need to take it off to sort it... this is my mission tomorrow and doesnt matter if its painted well seeing as its hidden away. this forum is awesome for finding stuff out

i got a second hand wing from the scrappers in the right colour for a tenner, quality!!
