any one that's read my square back thread will know this is it's replacement, i'm starting afresh and going a different route so i thought it would be good to get it's own thread up. after a lot of messing about due to emissions it passed it's mot today and is now fully legit. there's really not a great deal to say about it atm but it should be evolving quite quickly now i've got the mot out the way, just wanted to get it driving and slammed for the polo show, every thing else can wait :lol:8-)

i've got the 16v AFH conversion from the square back and a stainless exhaust waiting to go in it, gonna try and get some rocco seats to go with the genesis rear bench then just have some fun in it till the winter when i plan to hit it hard with the modifying stick lol. i'm thinking lots of smoothing, flared arches, Kawasaki green paint job, 15" AZEV's, factory smoked rear lights.

the main idea behind this car is to do it all myself and have some fun learning/doing it

Fuck off! There mine :ninja: haha

Looks good now its low and on some tasty wheels!

Please say the lexarse lights and that odd red sticker have been destroyed?

so do mk1 golf front coilies fit on a mk2/3? :o

You have to modify the hub or something.

I'm sure Guy will be able to tell you how.

Nice! looking forward to the progress..

cheers for the possitive comments 8-)

olly they are speedlines, they will be for sale soon but toby has first refusal on them.

they do fit but you need to convert to mk1 golf hubs and outer cv joints (both are straight swap), and they need the polo steering arms welding

to the coilovers. The most important part is making sure the steering arms are at the correct angles.

I can't take the credit for this idea, it was kiz (youngprodies) brain child, he did all the hard work and then showed me how to do it

haha fair enough :)

This needs a mclovin special side exit 8-)

makes me want a mk3 :(

  • Author

Thats a belter for a free car, good luck with the AFH. Whats repping the hydros now then?

  • Author

this will be eventually but for now i just need to concentrate on getting the 16v in it by edition

Kool and the gang. its hard work keeping up with your automobiles, was the beetle a rotbox or something?

  • Author

nah it was pretty solid but i got given the 16v conversion and wanted to do some thing with it so got rid of the beetle for a polo. just a case of 'needs must' really, this polo should be a lot more fun any way :unibrow:
