can anyone that has or has had in the past the h & r cup kit on there mk2/3 polo tell me how the kw suspension kit compares ?

looking for the best overall "ride" and "build quality" fixed height suspension kit i can get

done alot of searching and cant find much info on the kw suspension kit ( lots of good stuff said about kw coilovers , i assume kw shocks and springs are just as good ?)

so what do people think now , back in 2008 it seem h & r all that way , now in 2010 would people go kw ?

had both the hnr cup kit and kw kit, both are absolutley fantastic, although the hnr kit, is a world apart from the kw.

currently running the kw kit, but I've have the hnrs back in a heartbeat

I had H&R cup kit on my old kit and it's the biggest thing i miss about that car.

If it's springs and shocks you're after....H&R Cup Kit every time mate.

I'm shocked all the rave reviews about kw coilovers i assumed the shocks and springs would be the same, so the h & r is superior in both ride and build quality or just ride? , could you elaborate whats so different about the 2 kits and why the h& r is so much better , I'm literally going to order one or the other this week so want to be 1000% sure

the kw kit i have is shocks and springs, not coilovers. the dampers are stiff, but forgiving, but the rear springs are too soft and it causes my tyres to rub on the rear arches when i hit big ruts in the road, or drive very enthuastically around the twisties.

i had the exact same wheels on another mk2 coupe, with the hnr kit, and it never caught an arch once, even when it was fully laden in the back, handling was fantastic, coupled with g40 track rod and tie rod arms, and when it was fitted, a pps subframe.

the hnr kit set me back nearly 400 notes, the kw kit was new but i couldnt justify spending more than the car cost me, when forking out for suspension for it, this time round

fantastic , done alot of searching and reading old posts about the h & r cup kit , just wanted to be sure that nothing better has come along since , I'm reassured and will be ordering the h & r cup kit this week, thanks to those who have given their opinions .............much appreciated

Remember the H&R Cup Kits come in two ride heights...40/40 and 60/40.

You'll find most people on here have gone with the 60/40 kit mate.

The ride quality is excellent. You don't lose too much of the comfort compared to the cheaper kits (which are bouncy). Weitec are silly hard as friend had some on his old GT. Handling with the H&R was much improved and i was super pleased when i fitted them. No experience of the KW stuff but seen as everyone who has used the H&R stuff has only got good things to say i would probably go with that. Many high class car tuning places opt for H&R (porsche tuners Gemballa use H&R on a lot of their cars) obviously more expensive kits etc but the build quality is obviously there with H&R.

If venom want lots of money for the delivery PhilJ has them advertised on here for £420 delivered Clicky

**as said above come is different ride heights. Mine was the 60/40 kit. PhilJ also has a 70/60 kit advertised?

yes was going to get the 60/40 , you have the adjustment on the rear to go level or leave with a little stance am i correct?

Bugger! That's a good price. Wish I'd found that before investing in another (lesser) brand.

Front top mounts are wise to be changed. Have a set of new nuts and bolts ready (about £25 all in from VW) as you'll surely round/have to cut off a few. Bottom arms and G-Laderseite arb bushes are an option too if you've the cash. Also undo the steering arms from the rack to preserve the trackrod ends and make sure the nearside arm can be adjusted for when the tracking needs to be done.

new top mounts, and definatly arb blocks to move the arb down and forwards to correct the geometry after lowering and keep the wheel centralised in the arch

I know this is an old thread but what actually comes in the h&r kit. I will be getting it soon and have all new bushes to go with but don't know what you get in terms the front strut itself and bump stops etc. If not, do I need different bump stops?

All help appreciated.
