Hopefully with a week off next week I can find time to getting the car sorted. Part of that long list includes getting the splitter off and resprayed (looks like a quickie job was done last time - matt black paint flaking off all over the shop) and the wing mirrors. Planning on doing them all gloss black but not sure how to go about prepping them and doing a decent job?

I'm guessing removing them and sanding with fine sandpaper, primer and then a few coats of spray paint should do the job? Any online guides?

And does anyone know how hard/easy it is to remove the splitter and wing mirrow covers from a 6N2?

if your spraying plastic trims always make sure u sand the sh*t out of them and maker sure there silky smooth and look silky smooth coz anything you can see or feel will show up when you come to spray the final colour , if your using primer ! (which i would definatly recommend ) make sure your using Plastic primer ! and at least do 3 or 4 coats ! when it comes down to spraying the colour small short bursts are your best option and wait for the paint to be at a touch dry state before doing other coats , this minimises the chances of any unwanted paint building up or running !,

When it comes to laquare ! DO NOT CHEAP OUT ON IT , i cant empathise how important it is you do this , you want to be spending the best part of £10+ a tin , ! cheap laqaures can make paint fade or flake or the laquare might look spotty or patchy
