ah i see, i know exactly what you mean. I'm still in college at the moment and am debating whether or not to go to uni. hate where i am at the minute though. however a few opportunities have come up to train and earn (almost like an apprenticeship but the pay's better), and I'm really hoping to land myself one of those

in an apprenticeship myself, it's mechanical based (power station) but the course i'm doing along with it gets me a BTEC in Engineering. So yeah, it's a ticket to go anywhere :)

I Currently on an FdEng in motorsport Engineering, next year will be the Top up to get a BSc or BEng.

I'm regretting not doing a foundation tbh

rack is off man, i braved the snow to take it off. after the bumper came off i had to get old travel chests on it, so had to tay on for that, also went to collect dinning table and 4 chairs so it was still in use. it aint for scene points

How are you finding it?

Its been awhile since i had a good bit of time on the car, so had a catch up session this weekend,

friday washed the car

saturday, waxed it, interor clean, re l;ocated my internal aerial and wired it uo, got rid of the tweeters i put in as the wires were coming out of them, so now have a much tidier windscreen, goy clubpolo sticker on the wind screen and one i cut uo from a radio jackie sticker. Changed the spigot rings on the front wheels and cleaned off the winter salt, gave the bolts a shot of spray grease to help protect them.

Today Finished rebuilding the 16v intake manifold, bastardised some 5 inch speakers into rear parcel shelf supports and ran the wires,

wish my car sat as good as this, mines 80/80 and it looks dyer compared to this haha

very busy, dont worry.

I'm still looking for hubs for them, but should be done soon if i can figure out a way to measure the ackerman angle.

afh rebuilding in process, including engine raise internal shifter, chassis mods.

Getting so compo's redrilled for the summer and cookie cutters need tyres and adaptors.

Busy busy, just need a larger income to speed it all up.

June to August will be a very interesting time

working on front and rear bumpers too.

All coilover conversion parts are bought so coilovers this summer

AFh still needs loads, but i broke an injector so that has put it back until funds allow new one to be bought

So need my wheels to sell on ebay to fund AFH parts and new wheels :p

been busy the last few weeks

Tried to drive through a flood but it turned out to be way deeper than i thought, so the AAV got a bit choked and died, so that was that, enough of an excuse to go and stick an AFH in the Skolo.

The chassis needed some more attention so out with the AAV and strip the front down.

lots of welding later

then i got the mad notion that a removeable front panel would be a cut idea so que angle grinder.

Also the ARB bolt retaining nut needed to be repalced so i got some high tensile nuts and bolts and cut up the box to get access.

All the body work done, my attention turned to rebuilding the engine , ready to be put in

after a few long days it was in and wired, small adjustment of dizzy timing and it roared into life,

All the panels then to be put back on.

but has a high idle issue around 2k rpm so that is the current problem along with tidying the loom and plumbing in an expanison tank that will work with AFH thermostat housing. need to get a timing belt cover too.

well with another weekend down and the polo looking no closer to being on the road, i had better have something to show.

first up a re worked example of last summers homebrew straight through now in 3 sections not 1, tucked up higher into the car, must figure out how to hang the back box though.

and second up,

homemade coilovers courtesy of the hard work and research of others, namely KiZ for all the intial research they are his brain child, Guy for posting the original thread on how to do it, i had read it enough to the get the grasp of it, and Ben for putting up with all my questions, top blokes and a true assets to the community.
