Whops , think this should have gone into a sub fourm , sorry.

So... I got this car when i was learning to drive and decided to lower it on coilovers and do some things too it.

I must admit the door pins and footwell lights look Super chavvy but ...... yea i admit that.

Anyway

So...

This was named Po the Polow (How original  )

£385 , 108,000 miles few dings .. well alot. Body work is utter crap but oh well....

I'm not a mechanic or never done anything like this before so this is really a car to pull apart and put back together

This is what it looks like to date.

yeah mate looks good what u doing spraying the car matt black ??

looks lovely mate, nice and low!

nice to see you attempting smooth boot etc :)

nice made a good start fair play on the smoothing attempts as well! I don't know why you want to spray it black though storm grey is such an amazing colour!!

should of got the boot welded, surely filler will crack as soon as you shut the boot lol

i agree with above, storm grey is such a nice colour - dont go black! haha

and again, storm grey is amazing. to be honest i HATE the matte paint look.

Grey is ftw.

What the hell is going on with the induction kit lol?!

It’s going to be glossy black, then hopefully really shiny.

That’s only until it gets the full repay properly. Thinking bright orange with some sort of silver flakes, Dad has a chipped black passat and the flakes in the black paint look amazing.

Wanted to change the whole colour as there’s a lot to smooth and fill and sort out really and I cant afford £13 a can for storm grey. That gloss black worked out at around £2.50 a can. I’ve tested it on a spare bumper and for cheap paint it came out well. So that’s only tempory till I get paied

The boot , I filled it and crammed filler in lol , the boots been proper slammed plenty of times and its been fine , I'm thinking about getting rid of the lock which will be welded , If I'm getting a welder I would do the badge properly. Cut it out and whack a plate in.

The induction kit thing is only temp , Trying to get hold of some longer pipe so I can remount the whole thing right at the front of the new 16v bumper

This thread can be locked ,

Lastnight my breaks failed resulting in me jumping a kurb and heading into a tree at around 30 to a dead stop.

One side of the car seemed to break the other , nothing....

So i say good bye storm grey polo and hello to a nice new negative bank balance...

yea , everyones ok. Its just me with a black and blue neck.

I'm going to plastic weld and spray the bumpers to sell on / keep

I've been offered a 2002 vw lupo off my auntie, said shel give me the money and said "don't say no". but cant really see my self in a lupo.

Also just been offered a 2006 corsa 1.3 dtdi??? , 1.3 desil ????

Funny enough, both angel lights are fine. Both still work one has a slight scratch on the black bit but nothing that wont come out so I'm going to sell them , Making the buyer aware that they've been in a smash obviously so they might go cheap.

Some how the 3 of the wheels are fine , (thanks to the balloon tiers) one is completely dead. Going to sell them cheap , making them aware theve been in a crash which involved jumping a kurb. I know some one was after just one of them. There BBS mahles or something , brought them off a guy on here.

Pretty much going to sell the good bits , sold as seen as its been in a accident.

Or with the hassel , i might just sell it to the local scrap with some things left on it like coilies.

Edit:

Also , that headlight was working on the way back , My dad got his chipped passat to drag it out and with a bit of bending. It was driven in a convoy home down the road at about 5 mph... doing like 5k revs due to it being hard to move.

so more importantly, why did the brakes fail?

Honestly mate, that'll t-cut out! Mine's been in a crash with a hole in the bonnet, fucked wing, smashed bumper.

I'd upload pics but i don't know how.

You can get spares pretty cheap, and it means you can build the car back up yourself! Built, not bought, remember!

You drove it home, it's not that bad!

But yeah, why did the brakes fail?!

Bit off topic, but thats what i call a cold air feed!

12072010115.jpg

Gutted to hear about your crash, i'd love a lupo though! little nippy box

Dont go for the corsa, i've driven a 1.3tdi and its a wank little engine

lol @ cold air feed.

well , on my MOT they said i had Rear break imbalance for %26 and corroded break pipes.

But they passed it anyway.

Me being a scrouge tought if it was an advisory itl be fine for a month or two then il get them sorted , (change rear to disks also) but it seems that they where FUCKED.

Breaked and the car shot off left really quick , couldnt controll it car just went , up kurb and landed in a nice tree which now had my Vw polo imprinted on it.

Its almost as if only one side of the car atchualy breaked , there was no skid marks on the road only scrapes on the kurb and path as i crossed it.

But... I've been looking at getting another polo :) , swapping some pannels and hey presto.. with help from a loan :/

oh and another thing , Dont buy an L get a CL.... i would loved to have had abs lastnight and pas...

Sucks about the crash man, BBS mahle are my favorite wheels get some lower profile tyers and they will look rad

Are you not claiming for a new car on insurance then? I'd be grabbing the offer of the lupo! I had an accident in my first car, the damage looked similar to yours. It took my dad a couple of weekends to change the radiator etc and knock it back in to shape. Good times.

Will you be selling the coileys?

They shouldn't have let it pass an MOT with the amount of imbalance between the rear brakes.

yea it passed.

I'm wondering if my break lines where damaged by some one due to things going on in my life currently.

@ the coilies. yes i think i will be selling them. However under the knowledge they have been evolved in a accident. I will be looking at them before even selling them. if theres ANY sign of damage at all then they will be binned. I'm assuming they might be slightly however with the large tires and them being would up 6 inches at the front i think there’s a low chance they could be ok , but doesn’t change the fact they have been in an accident. Fair ammount of ride in them to compact.

EDIT: Looked at the colies , they look fine and work however , theve been in an acident.

@ and about MOT , they said it was VERY high I've got it on the document somewhere with a list of advisory’s

I'm now currently stripping the car out (audio) few little bits and scrapping it.

If anyone wants to buy it in its current state then make me an offer , the engines good. only thing i can see wrong is radiator is slightly pushed back and the alternator is cracked and been pushed back.

After this , it actually managed to started on 3rd attempt and drove home in a convoy.

How much you selling the bumpers and lights for?

Sorry mate , I'm going to be keeping them.

I took the colies off just before i got the car scraped. I've checked them over and there untouched soo... Although i have a 9N now , il be buying a 6N again to do properly sometime soon :) Slam and whack the bumpers on.

Just need to finish sorting them out, theres some slight marks still , will take an hour or two in the garage then il be spraying them.
