clear the codes and run the car for a couple of days and re-scan. the ones showing now might not all be current faults.

Cheers for replying, ok i've cleared the codes. I'll post them again in a cpl of days and c wots coming up then.

Without doubt your fault lies with your coolant temp sensor.

16500 - Engine Coolant Temp. Sensor (G62): Implausible Signal

I have 1.2 12v 9n2 and the same problem. Idles too fast and you find if the engine is warm it is very hard to start.

Easy job to do. Locate sensor and remove wiring plug, remove underpanel from front bumper to provide access to coolant drain tap and drain coolant. Return to sensor, remove retaining pin and remove sensor (just pulls out) fit new sensor ensuring to use new seal, insert pin, close coolant drain tap, replace underpanel, fill coolant and watch the fault disappear!

20 min job tops!

hey guys cheers for your help.

I have ran the car for about a week, engine management light came on again, ran VAG-COM and here's what came up:

VAG-COM Version: Release 409.1-S

Control Module Part Number: 03D 906 032 C

Component and/or Version: 1,2l/2V SIMOS3 00HS2501

Software Coding: 00031

Work Shop Code: WSC 00788

P0116 - 35-00 - -

16556 - Fuel Trim: System Too Rich: Bank 1

P0172 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

Is this definately the coolant sensor? I have replaced the coolant sensor before, but i did not drain and top up the coolant. Thanks!
