anyone know of any VAG range cars that have assisted vacuum brakes?

Meaning that the vacuum is supplied via a pump and not the manifold.

I know that some volvo's come with them just wondered if VW have used them.

Try the diesels, they don't have manifold vacuum as they don't have a butterfly valve for a throttle, so they have to have a seperate vac pump for the brake servo

ta. am planning to go on a scrapyard raid 2moz and see.

I know theres no transits in the scrappy but theres a few big BMW/Volvo's/Mercs so those should be the ideal cars.

even some of the big merc/volvo's use them as they dont always generate enough vac so the pumps are inline to the servo and if they pick up that the vac isnt sufficient they kick in, others (assuming diesels) are stand alone and switch off when the right level is achieved.
