Can anybody please tell me how to remove the handbrake cover for a 1997 VW Polo hatchback? I've got the new handbrake cover and gaiter and haven't tried removing the old one yet. I didn't want to start and do any damage to anything.

Afaik its just clipped on. Mine is loose so can't say for sure

Mine is also loose/partly broken from previous removals, but you remove the back part first. If you squeeze the rear section together and pull it up it should come out fairly easily, and the front part has just one clip but it is fragile and perpendicular to the rear two clips. pull lightly on the front of the cover and jiggle it around and it should come out, just try not to bend it too much.
